Re: Effects of Chronic Iodine Excess ....
Quick update....am now back to 100mgs as I still had fibrocystic breast problems on 50mgs. Nothing like in the past but still would come on before a period. It's resolving but very, very slowly. I'll go back to Flechas in Jan. He said it would take 2-3 years on 50mgs and it's starting to look like he's correct.
Am seeing good improvements in my brain on 100mgs...I like that a lot esp as I'm in night school with tons of memorization to do.
But am still having problems with my arthritic ankle, constipation and still have some breast swelling. I've been going on and off
Iodine because of the constipation problem.
Right now I'm playing with high, high doses of probiotics following the protocols autistic moms use to get their kids gut neurotransmitters going again. I've concluded this is a gut serotonin problem for me. (so high dose probiotics, high inulin foods like aspargus, j. artichokes, dandelion leaves and moderate amounts of vit C+Mag. are working. I can't figure out if it's
Iodine or detoxing stuff that shuts the neurotransmitters down. I think it's possibly detoxing.
Also this is interesting...got a hormone panel back and I'm totally in range for my age. I'm 53. The doctor was surprised to see my FSH level was 12 and told me to be careful as I could still get pregnant. He's another
Iodine doctor and didn't bat an eye when I said I trying 100mgs. He doesn't usually go that high unless he's got a
Breast Cancer patient but said in my case it looks like it could be needed. He did put me on a hypothalamus product by Standard Process and a homeopath for lymphs as he thinks they could be clogging. Did say he rarely sees hormone panels that look this good for anyone in midlife. (I dropped all HRT use for about 2 months in order to see where my hormones were without it....my levels were really low 4-5 years ago when I was first prescribed HRT)
Also am about to experiment with adding turmeric for inflamation, bet back on Mg chloride baths and put use a little progesterone sublingual and cream on breasts to see if I can drain them faster. Will update later where this leads.
