The reason Wormwood has a repuation for being toxic, is because it kills worms. And when the worms die, their decomposing corpses liberate all manner of toxins that cause the symptoms you are describing. The beauty of using alternative medicine is that you are in charge and you may lower the dose to manage the detox symptoms.

The reason I believe this to be true is because the first time I took Wormwood the threadworms in my system went nuts. I could feel them crawling around like crazy and it made me dizzy. I can now take three times as much Wormwood , and I have little or no reaction at all. I don't believe I have developed a tolerance for it, because I don't take it that often, just every once in a while as routine maintenence.

It probably won't take more than a few days to get it all out of your system. But I would seriously consider staying on it. If it was stirring up symptoms in me, I'd want to get rid of them. I'd start with a low dose and gradually increase until all the symptoms go away, then do routine maintenence with it.

Yes, Iodine can stir things up too. I'm not sure what kind they use at the hospital.
