Re: Martial Law
Tomi,
Those two sentiments/definitions (in combination) are what love is (pure and simple, thank you). Now if only the rest of humanity would feel the same! The trouble is that there are MANY (humanity as a whole) "individuals" (each person) and each individual has their own agenda (traditionally, not necessarily). "When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child, I reasoned like a child;..." (1 Corinthians 13:11) and I had this 'dream' of "peaceful coexistence" (live and let live), but how quickly I learned that it's not the reality (I didn't really learn for 51 years, that's why I was depressed, I believe it's the reason MOST people GET depressed..."PHILOSOPHICAL" depression).
I don't really have a point to my post, I just had to say something about those sentiments (revisiting a childhood dream), but maybe now someone will understand what the creator (God) really is..."peaceful coexistence"/"live and let live" love and we can minimize/consolidate all this partisan competition and subjective philosophies based on different agendas.
Quite simply, if a person knows the meaning of respect and has "respect" for absolutes (including a knowledge of who they are, "I AM WHO I AM"), then they will also have appreciation for 'where they came from' (creator) and the people (PHILOSOPHICALLY, the two are/should be considered inseparable, "God is ONE", what irony it is that humanity has chosen to be in COMPETITION with EACH OTHER!,...partisan ego).
We should have appreciation for "where we ALL came from" (our common heritage...God) AND
love others AS (and if...self respect) we love ourselves (self love).
(of course we should also want to live forever with God by accepting eternal life).

It's simple, but humanity chooses to complicate so (just had to remark on the simplicity of it all).
