I have problems with your view of the bible, it is obvious that the finite cannot understand the infinite but the infinite has no problems in the reverse and can easily relate to mere finites like John and us. The bible is obviously not a facsimile from God but is processed thought the mind of man by prophetic visions and means. Yes man wrote the bible and if it was supposed to be a guidebook to life for us that and is vague ambiguous and unreliable, we should not trust anything from it and throw it out the window as a false document. There is no middle ground here one or the other, the bible is correct or abject nonsense.

If we take revelations literately, it reads like a bad fantasy, horror, Science or fiction novel. You know prophets like John would be considered mentally ill today and be put on heavy medication. King David was an obvious bi-polar sufferer and John of Revelations displays all the symptoms of severe schizophrenia.
