As for the tetragramation, as long as I've known about it I too found it fascinating. In college, I took a course on the modern interpretation of the bible and for it, did a study on YHWH which I later presented in the essay. There are indeed several interesting explanations of it's meanig. The most accepted is that it stands for 'past, present, future', which essentially makes an eternity -- quite appropriate for a God. Traditionally Jews considered this name too holy to pronounce, and whenever reciting a Torah, pronounced Ha Shem - The (Great) Name, instead, whenever they encounter these letters in the screptures. Many Christians agree. Contrary to this openion, Jehovah's Witnesses not only named their movement after this name but consider pronouncing it an essential part of worship. I have hurd that some Kabbalists aspire to learn to pronounce it correctly. This, allegedly, can spiritually enable one to perform miracles.

Personally, as with some of the other ambiguities, I find these disagreements within JudeoChristian community frastrating. I honestly want to know and follow the will of true God. Without a personal revelation, the best it seems I can do is make an educated guess. Sometimes I wonder if that's the point. Perhaps the Lord wants to see what choices we make and perhaps even more importantly, why, when there's no clarity.
