Re: O/T Diet- Paleo, Veg., Blood Type, SCD, Macro, Raw, Aaaargh!
Actually, not 100% - I have still been taking 1-2 tsp. of kelp per day because I think it has helped me a lot, and I read her explanations for why they don't allow seaweeds, and for me there was not enough evidence to avoid it. (It sounds like the study she refers to used a drug containing carageenan on animals, which caused them to develop colitis.) I've done the well fermented 24+ yogurt, but the yogurt doesn't feel right to me and creates mucus. I might try goat milk, since I've read so many bad things about cow's milk and think it might digest better. I also have been eating some fruit, which I suspect feeds yeast and "bad" bugs despite what they claim. I did eat it raw, though, and also raw veggies. I figured that was OK since I didn't have crohn's or colitis and no problems with diarrhea (unless I take too many herbs), but maybe I should have stuck with all cooked for a week or so.
I have done a fair amount of
parasite cleansing over the years and actually think I over-did it at one point. My naturopath keeps finding protozoa, it's like it either mutates, I can't clear it, or I'm constantly picking stuff up. We keep doing rounds of specific homeopathic remedies for whatever she finds, and occasionally herbal tinctures, but according to her testing, I've worn out the usual
Wormwood combinations. When I had her test me with MH's de-wormer, she said "your body doesn't want anything to do with that." I have been going with her recommendations so far because I do feel I've made some progress, but obviusly the digestive issues are not much better. I'm eating mostly alkaline forming foods, no coffee, no drugs, etc. I just made a green smoothie in the vitamix - one pear, a handful of berries, and about 4 big leaves of swiss chard, with a little water. That was a first for me, so we'll see how that goes. I'm bloated, of course, but honestly, a big glass of water will do the same thing.
thanks for the link on the ilosecal valve, I do think there are some structural issues, and my husband is a bodyworker - coincidentally, he was just working on my ileum two nights ago, doing some abdominal visceral work. That area is where I have the larger of the 2 swollen ovaries and I tend to feel very congested in the right lower pelvic area and over the bladder, though a bit lower than where the ileum is. I'll try to work with it daily myself. I bet there is some yoga stretch that would help, and I know proper breathing has always been a problem for me, I tend to hold it and breathe shallow.
