I agree that it is better to know the truth such as a will of God first hand. It is often argued that Adam and Eve have paid dearly for seeking experiential knowledge through eating a forbiden fruit; therefore, one should take what is written in the bible as an absolute truth and not try to figure our or even feel for what is right. The difference, of course, is that Adam and Eve had a close relationship with God. He told them directly. Various religions have sacred books which they all swear have divine origin, accompanied with miracles and full of much wisdom. I've studdied many of them, and found something meaningful in each.

If there is a more true perspective, I would very much like for God to tell me, perhaps through a messanger I could trust, which one it is. It is valuable to have a teacher who've been there, to show the way. You are not exactly right in saying that Jesus dropped his Jewishness and beliefs of his people. He remained a fully-observant Jewish Rabbi till the end of his days. It was Paul, who relaxed the law to accomodate gentiles, though himself keeping kosher too. Christianity in first couple of hundred years was a sect within Judaism, and Jesus frequently referenced old testament as an authoritative word of God. He also said: "Be Still and know that I am God". Jesus spoke about knowing truth in one's heart. He said: “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”. I want to know the truth.

Having said this, Christian priests seem to have a long history of success in dealing with evil spirits. If one can help me, this would be a great testament to Christian doctrine.
