Re: Oats do not work for me

I used to eat all kinds of breads and cereals, and no matter how "healthy" it was, I never received the fulfillment I got from a roasted salmon filet, or a grilled strip-loin beefsteak, with steamed broccoli covered with olive oil, and seasoned with Cajun spice - WOW! Twenty minutes after I had eaten the steak, I was still able to run for the bus and not feel ill in any way. Whenever I did eat breads or cereals, I often felt bloated, sluggish, and on rare occasions nauseated. Keep in mind that I'm also 65lbs over-weight, and dropping. If knew about this Blood Type O diet when I was with my girlfriend, we'd be late going to work in the mornings. I just have so much more energy. I have a friend at work who is a Type A. He can't seem to understand how I could eat such "crap" in the morning, when all I need is a good bowl of cereal to get my day started - no thanx. I have tried some flaxseed cereal, but other than it being a good source of fibre, I don't find it does much for me. The days of the grain as being part of my daily diet are soon coming to an end, and tofu just won't cut it. I was once 280lbs, now I'm 255. Meat, veggies, and the recommended fruit are now a daily regimen. My only weakness right now is barley and hops in a good cold ale - not part of my daily diet either.

I often find myself in an argument, especially with family members, that too much meat (fish or otherwise) is not good for anyone. If that were true, Type O people would be in big trouble since our food is meat. Apparently, too much meat could lead to colon and/or prostate cancer. Keeping that in mind, I've been buying naturally raised or organically grown meats, (use whatever term you like). Not that I've done any studies, but it wouldn't surprise me if the use of steroids and anti-biotics, and a host of other speed-growing agents found in conventional meats were linked to prostate and colon cancers, amongst others.

Anyway, so far this diet has worked me. My asthma doesn't bother me like it used to and my sinuses don't swell as often. I went camping a couple of weekends ago, and my friends even told me that my snoring was nowhere near the way I had snored at last year's camping trip, so that was a plus.

For Type O's, meat is the way to go.

Thanx for listening.
