Re: Avoiding a Speeding Train
I now have faith that I'm on the right path to healing, finally, too. I will be going back to the Chiro/Chinese Med Dr. the middle of Oct, he wanted me to be doing the liver detox, colon cleansing for 2 months. I do have confidence in him, prior to coming back to his hometown of St. George, Utah, he practiced for 20 years in S. California. We're 3 1/2 hours from St George, which makes it harder for us.
The reason I found him to begin with, was that I had gone to a University medical Dr.(Internist, infectious disease)) a day or two before, for continuing elevated liver enzymes, and a liver that hurt, fatigue, and basically feeling like crap for a long period of time. After having blood tests for all the things that could be going on with the liver, hepatitis etc, a local Nurse Practioner did a blood test for Epstein Barr, and it came back highly positive (chronic/reactive), and my concern at that time was wondering if I am an "infectious person".
I made the mistake of telling the Dr, and his student, about the gall stones I had flushed from my liver, and they thought I was absolutely crazy (I have no gall bladder, it was removed 2 years ago). They wanted to put me on anti-depressants! I asked them how that was going to help my hurting liver feel better? And walked out of the office, humiliated and knowing I had to have help from someone that had an understanding, and that didn't think I was crazy.
I came home from there, did a liver flush that produced a bunch of stones, some the size of almonds, and did a search for an Alternative Medicine Dr, found this one in St George, called his office, and the Dr. actually answered the phone, so I was able to talk to him directly. He knew exactly what I was talking about. I made an appt for the next day, and that's how my path to healing has begun- that was 2 months ago.
It's been one little step of learning at a time, and "Aha" moments, one after the other. It's been like putting pieces to a puzzle together, and learning from each piece that's started to fit into place. It's amazing to me how the body and all the processes respond when we finally get some understanding of what needs to be done to get them working properly after years of abuse, and neglect, and total unawareness- (ok, stupidity).
I am SO grateful to people like yourself who are willing to help others. Because my husband, father, and adult children have seen in me because of not feeling good, they are now paying attention to the steps I am now taking to take control, and get things turned around. I was hesitant to tell my 20 year old son about the deworming, and that I thought he needed to get started on it...I was surprised that he readily agreed to doing it, his only reaction was "Where do I get a bottle of it?"...which I "happened" to have already gotten ahead of time for him. My husband is deworming, my step-daughter knows she has parasites from having been in the Amazon a year ago, but didn't know what to do for them (took the 1 week dosage from the Dr.), and she's now starting herself and her family on the dewormer; and my 76 year old father just started a colon cleanse, and will be doing the deworming, after suffering for years with constipation- (to the point of having to call the ambulance for himself for a bowel obstruction).
Like my husband said though...years ago people dewormed. It's not something "new", it's just something no one seems to know to do anymore, and not something a medical Dr. would ever recommend for problems.
