Our bodies need
Sugar as well as salt. IOW, your body is craving
Sugar because you have eradicated it from your diet. You should get your
Sugar from fruit and honey, and other natural sources. If you are still craving sugar, it’s something else you are not getting that is triggering the sugar craving. Try taking vitamins. Make sure your protein intake is adequate, too.
(Remember not to eat too much sugar because too much is very bad for you. I would say about ¼ teaspoon a day may be enough, that’s in addition to your fruits and honey. You must have a balanced and well-prepared diet so as not to have these outrageous cravings. When I tried vegetarianism a very long time ago, I craved sugar so much so that I gained about seven
pounds eating candy bars. That was a three-month try at vegetarianism. It didn’t work for me, but then again I was very young, about twenty years old.(now I'm 30 something) I was very new at it, and so I wasn’t getting all of my nutrition. My body was telling me something. It may(or may not) have been the sugar per se that I needed, but something was missing, and sugar could pull me through it. My diet today is all-natural, all organic, fresh veggies, fresh fruit, teas, flushes, etc. I have done a lot of research, and go on the
Support Forums everyday, so I’m much more knowledgeable about diet, health, and my body. I haven’t craved a candy bar in two years(at least!) But if/when I do I know I am not getting a vital vitamin/mineral or something that my body desperately needs. So I do the
Elimination Diet or the (what I call) add-on diet(where I add food that I haven’t been eating to see if it cures the cravings. I usually have an idea of what foods I should add-on.
Hope this helps, and good luck,
:) AnonymousJane_01
