Psyllium
-----------------------------
Lots of people have success with psyllium, but a lot of people also *don't* because psyllium can be very drying ... and therefore constipating. (Go figure!)
In my case, I used psyllium for years with great success -- and then, over time, it gradually stopped working, and constipation became a real problem again, even with a relatively good diet.
So, I finally quit using the pysllium altogether, and switched to a psyllium-free fiber supplement, and suddenly everything was fine again! :-) Lesson learned: I don't recommend psyllium for long-term use.

Vitamin C
-----------------------------
As an occasional remedy for constipation, you can take Vitamin C in relatively high doses. Once you reach your tolerance level (the amount your body can use), the body will dump the rest and your stools will begin to soften. Increase the amount of Vitamin C gradually, though, since high doses can eventually trigger diarrhea, in which case, just back off a bit until your stools normalize, and continue until you've gotten a good cleanse.
(I do not, however, recommend Vitamin C on a long-term basis to control constipation simply because it is so acidifying. Others in the Linus Pauling school recommend "orthomolecular" mega-doses on an ongoing basis. You'll have to decide for yourself what you think is best.)
-----------------------------
Magnesium
-----------------------------
I'm less knowledgeable about this. My understanding is that Epsom Salts should only be used for occasional constipation -- *not* for attempting to build your magnesium reserves.
However, from what I've read, magnesium deficiency is *extremely* common, and contributes to a whole host of health challenges. I'd suggest Googling this (or search the CureZone to learn more.)
I'm just getting up-to-speed on this myself, but I do know that:
` many people use magnesium on a regular basis to improve elimination,
` many of us need more magnesium that we are getting,
` magnesium can be difficult to absorb (so the type of magnesium you use is important), and
` many health problems clear up when the magnesium deficiency is corrected.

Flax Seeds
-----------------------------
Again, I'm less knowledgeable about this. I've heard that flax seeds are difficult to digest (for some people), and the oils in the seeds go rancid very quickly if the seeds are ground ahead of time. This means all flax seed meal should be refrigerated (or frozen) as soon as it is ground. Since most shipments of flax seed meal are not refrigerated, it's probably best to grind your own seeds on a per-use basis.
That said, I just checked the label on the fiber supplement I like and currently use, and it includes:
` flax fiber
` guar gum
` acidophilus
` F.O.S.
` L-Glutamine
Hope this helps!
Someone else will have address the Epsom Salt question, since I do not have experience using it for constipation. I've only used it as part of the lemon/oil flush to open the bile ducts -- after cleansing the colon.
Enemas or colonics will of course work, but if they are not convenient, you can do a salt water flush to cleanse the colon *before* beginning your liver flush. (Afterwards, this would probably be too harsh, so I'd opt for another colon cleansing option after the liver flush.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Salt Water Flush (for colon cleansing before a liver flush)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gulp down 2 teaspoons non-iodized sea salt mixed in 1 quart of lukewarm water. Within an hour or two, this will dissolve the contents of your colon and completely wash you out!
Warning: this flush takes effect extremely quickly, so be sure you're near the bathroom once you've downed the salt water. In fact, the site that recommended this flush said "You will be a living a fire hydrant for well over an hour!" -- and I can verify that this is absolutely true! :-D
.o00o.
LATER: I just found this cautionary post regarding Salt Water Flushes, so be sure you are also aware of the potential risks: http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=332101 I have never had any problems with a salt water wash, but my blood pressure is also quite low.
Looks like there is always something more to learn, something more to be aware of...which is why we all have to do our due diligence -- myself included!

Well, there's a bit of progress, at least. May I ask: have you had much experience with colon cleansing?
If not, my understanding of the process (based on my own experience and what I've read) is that people who have had a history of constipation may have quite a bit of impacted matter in the colon, and it may take time to eliminate this build-up with:
` repeated colon cleanses (dissolving herbs are especially important for deep cleansing),
` reduced candida levels and improved probiotic levels,
` increased hydration,
` increased fiber intake,
` improved diet and nutrition, and
` better pH balancing.
In my own case, I've spent many years working on this since a lot of my colon problems were compounded by:
` taking antibiotics as a teenager for acne (for years on end) and
` adopting a vegetarian diet that was heavy in fruits, honey, breads and cheese.
Once you begin making progress in removing more of this impacted matter, the improvements in your health (and mood) will be more and more noticeable. (In my case, in reviewing a recent GI test, my MD said my report was the best she had ever seen -- and to keep on doing whatever I was doing -- so there is hope! :-D)
However, it is important also to note that with this cleansing process, there can be detox reactions as layers and layers of impacted matter are removed, so learning more about the cleansing and detox process, taking it gradually and persevering will be your keys to success.

Sounds like you did exactly what I do.
May I ask: did you do a colon cleanse *before* your liver flush? If so, that may have already removed most of the matter that is not already impacted.

You need a lot more clean, clear water! Dr. Robert O. Young says for daily maintenance we should each drink 32oz of alkaline water for every 30 lbs of body weight -- and when we are cleansing we need even more!
Hope this helps!
Also, are you still feeling down? If so, what kind of exercise are you doing these days? Good, regular, aerobic exercise is famous for lifting depression. In fact, it is often more effective than anti-depressants! :-D
