Yeah, I'm against long-term ketosis. The trouble is, as a WOE, it's not a nice diet to sustain long-term. Also, I can't digest all the greasy food he describes in his menus (eggs and butter, fried pork chops - will sit in my stomach for hours!!). But I am trying a higher fat to carbs to protein ratio right now and it does seem to help with some of my symptoms. At least I'm getting more calories than I was.
I must again say though, be careful with fasting. I think if it's for a few days and not too often, fine. I fasted intermittently for a few months and got dangerously underweight and very ill. My vision is still blurred. Just be careful. In fact, the optimus diet is a great way to lose weight if that is your goal.
The trouble with fasting is that you lose lean weight and your metabolism slows. In addition, cortisol and adrenalin go through the roof (which is why you feel so good). These are hormones you do NOT want to be high - at least not for any extended period. Just be careful, and thanks for the advice
