Hello, I had been hearing about ACV for awhile now and decided to try it this past Sunday night. I put 1 teaspoon in approx. 10oz of water and drank it down. Prior to that I had been feeling great that day. I had had a veggie omelete that morning for breakfast and some popcorn with salt and butter for dinner and then drank the ACV mixture about 1/2 hour after eating the popcorn. It went down fine, and the taste wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Then about a 1/2 hour later I went to bed. I felt a little weird, but nothing too major, but I did end up having a hard time sleeping that night.
When I woke up Monday morning, I felt a little nauseous, but made it to work anyway. While at work I felt more nauseous and had loose bowels, causeing me to leave around lunch time. I rode the train the whole way home just praying I'd make it home (an hour commute) w/o heaving. Basically, I just wanted to let people know that if you're going to be trying ACV for the first time you may want to try it when you know you won't have to be anywhere the next day, just incase you have a similar experience as I had.
Will I be injesting more ACV in the future? Definitely not in that way, but I'd probably still use it on/with food. I'm not sure what happened or if ACV is just not for me like some of the other posts say, it's not for everyone, but if anyone has any thoughts I'm willing to listen.

From what I have researched, ACV helps disolve unuseable calcium. To get rid of kidney stones, you might consider using 1/3 teaspoon of ACV and an equal amount of virgin cold pressed olive oil 8 times a day plus eat as much watermellon as you can stand. Cranberry juice would also help. Avoid eating any kind of meat or fats and thow out any kind of margarine and never use that garbage again if you do. Stay away from any kind of beverages with refined Sugar such as alcohol or sodas and nothing with caffeine until the stones pass. When they do pass, ACV will help prevent further calcium build ups in the future. I would also suggest staying away from tap water.

This is a reply to # 265,785That's what I was wondering, but boy if that's the case it was quite a doozy. I've been following the Candida protocol so I'm kinda surprised that I would've had such a strong reaction since I've cleaned up my diet pretty severly as compared to what I used to eat. But maybe that's all it was/is. I think I'll just stay with what's working for me for now, stuff that doesn't produce such a strong reaction.

MoreThis is a reply to # 265,782Like you, I was wanting to try the ACV; however, I took a glass first thing in the morning and one later in the day -- both on empty stomachs -- I did not want to challenge myself! :) My bowels do seem to get a bit of a boost, nothing much, but I can feel my lower back until they move.
So far, so good.
Perhaps if you try it on an empty stomach, you may have better luck? And, I took only 2 tsp. of the ACV and 2 tsp. of honey in the glass of water.

Thanks for your response. If I decide to try it again, I'll definitely apply the empty stomach advice. That had actually occurred to me to try it like that first, but I became impatient and wanted to try it right away.

Your first mistake was eating the popcorn and then taking the ACV!!!!
Popcorn causes the body to become Acidic and upset the different Mineral ratios to each other!!
And when you added the ACV on top of this, the ACV made it worse, because you did not have enough Alkaline Mineral Reserves in the ACV or in your body to overcome the Acidity!!
You may get better results with the ACV by taking one tablespoon full of it in 8oz glass of water and mix in one tablespoon full of pure blackstrap molasses and mix these together before drinking!!
This mix will provide you with enough Alkaline Minerals from the blackstrap molasses to go along with the Acidity of the ACV, if it is poor Quality ACV,so you may get good results!!

I actually happened to read a lot of your other posts today and am realizing that I have much work to do with getting my PH back to a more alkaline state. I don't think I can use the molasses because of the Sugar (I'm following the Candida protocol), but I'll definitely keep the popcorn to a minimum.

Maybe, but I thought it would be a big no-no if you were trying to combat Candida and were ingesting any type of processed "sugar".
This is something that I copied from an article on curezone:
"Blackstrap Molasses is made from the "liquid leftovers" of processed table Sugar (sucrose). It does contain small amounts of iron, calcium and B vitamins, but this token "good" is offset with 65% sucrose content."
So I'm wondering how it would help? Can you elaborate?

And Blackstrap Molasses is one of those things!!!
Pure Blackstrap Molasses is one of the "HIGHEST" Quality of fully loaded Alkaline Mineral concentrates that is in a Carbon bond that I know of for such a cheap price!!
Do you suppose that it's cheapness of cost may be why some want to distort the "TRUTH" about it's value in Health matters concerning one of the biggest problems people have with Candida-Yeast/Fungus infections????????????
Why, I would say you would probably get more problems from just smelling White Sugar , than from eating a dish full of Blackstrap molasses!!
The drink I mentioned of using one tablespoon full of blackstrap molasses and one tablespoon full of ACV will not give the same results as using one half of a fresh Lemon with the blackstrap molasses, yet it will produce much better results than either the Lemon or the ACV by themselves!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a reply to # 265,797O.k., o.k. uncle! I'll try the molasses! ;) I loved it as a kid...and I've been reading more of your posts on the Candida Forum so maybe it's not such a "crazy" idea.
Anyhoo, maybe if I have time after I've tried it I'll post back and let you know how it went. I might try it with the lemon though instead of the ACV 'cause I like lemon better, but anyway, thanks for the info/advice.

Yeah, that's probably true even though you don't actually know how much protein I have in my diet. But anyway, did you happen to read finallyfaith's message to me about trying the humic shale in place of the molasses? Out of curiosity, what do you think about humic shale?
Also, are there any beans, legumes, and/or grains that have a fairly low acidity? I'm having a hard time giving those up even though I think they might me causing me some problems.
Plus, what's the deal with the 80/10/10 ratio again? Do you know what I'm talking about? (I think it was you talking about this, was it?) I think it was the 80 is veggies and fruits, and one 10 is for protein and the other is for fat? But where do grains/carbohydrates fall into this? The 80? But if that's true and they're so acidic then...do you see where I'm going with this?

No it was not me talking about the ratios of protein, to other foods.
Like I said in the begining, Lemon and blackstrap molasses for to help fight acidity and bring you out of a Depression and give you energy when you need it!!
ACV and molasses for other things.
These are both very cheap and I believe much more cheap than shale humic's, but it is your money and Health!!
What most people do not realize is that most "ANY" food you eat which is a fruit and or vegetable has Protein in it!!!
All seeds and grains are the concentrated part of the plant and so contain much higher levels of Protein then!!
Most people eat too much protein and Junk foods in the western culture!!
All Protein causes the body to become Acidic, no matter if it is animal protein or grain and nut protein!!
The green growing parts of plants are the most Alkaline part of plants!!
The seed is highest in protein!!
Blackstrap molasses comes from the stalk and leaf of the plant, so it contains the greatest amount of Alkaline Minerals at a very "CHEAP" cost!!!

This is a reply to # 265,803to reduce teeth sensitivity swish mouth with baking soda and water solution, then spit out, this will give the mouth an alkaline ph and stop the sensitivity. do this after each time you take the acv or anything acidic.

if you don't want to use the mollases get a good "humic shale" colloidal mineral supplement. there are several, among the best is Clark's. that will help a lot. take it in water or juice with lemon or acv, you will really feel a boost of energy from this! also celtic Sea Salt has trace minerals. moreless expalins it is the chemical reaction between the alkaline minerals and the acid from the lemon or acv (or both) that provides this energy. the alkaline minerals cannot be utilized by the body without this reaction. i have been doing a hign mineral diet recently and feel great.

Also thanks FF for spelling out what Moreless was saying about the acid and the akaline minerals having to be used together to create a reaction in order for the body to be able to use them, that actually helped me to understand it more clearly.

This is a reply to # 265,782Cannot imagine why, after just one dose, you had such a severe reaction - there was a time some time ago that I was taking, first thing in the am on an empty stomach, as suggested by the ACV people, one TBS of the vinegar in just 8 ounces of filtered water and down the hatch - no problem, no horrible taste, just down the hatch.
So, cannot imagine why you reacted so severely.
Also, they told me that the honey, molasses, etc., is not REQUIRED for the health affect - that it is just for those who cannot or will not accept the taste of vinegar.

This is a reply to # 265,807Yeah, trust me I was pretty surprised at the reaction too. ;) But I didn't take it on an empty stomach, and the taste wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. But maybe it's just not for me, I don't know. I've now read many conflicting things about ACV (I guess since it is still vinegar) that I don't really know what to believe.
One weird thing I've noticed that since this experience is that now I'm experiencing more bloating after eating than I ever have in the past which is quite annoying. Any suggestions on that would be welcome obviously. I think I may be not able to handle yogurt anymore, but that's just a guess. All this "trial and error" is getting to me a little. ;)
Well, as they say, back to the drawing board.

This is a reply to # 265,814L - I'm very sensitive and had a detox reaction to ACV when I first tried it. I backed off and started again with just one drop. I've worked my way up to 68 drops which is just less than a teaspoon. It's taken a long time but I haven't had any detox reactions along the way.
I "work my way up" with everything new that I try. It sures makes a difference!
