Passover - cleansing herb, hyssop
Sprinkle blood on the doorposts with hyssop stalks - both powerfully symbolic to a people who were well familiar with using herbal medicine, but also symbolic of a group of people about to go through a cleansing too, from a culture fulla worms, to a different lifestyle.
Hyssop - Hyssopus officinalis, a potent vermifuge (dewormer) among many other applications.

Lamb with bitter herbs - bitter is the primary flavor of potent alkiloids which are the way to paralize and shock adult worms enough to shunt them out of the digestive tract.
Wormwood (Absenthia) is heavy in alkiloids as well as saponins.

Moshe (moses) would have had a full education in self-treatment in preparation for the responsibility of nobility of the realm- wartime conquest and defence. Survival and medicine were chief among these lessons.
Leviticus was one of
Hulda Clark 's big inspirations for her research and treatment of parasitic infections and biofilmic (parasitic microbial fungal colonies) conditions (normal in chronic illness). She analysed the herbal applications of each herb mentioned in oil directed for 'annointing of the ill' in the mosaic instructions for health, including the nutrient profile, and started using the amish traditional deworming herbs on herself and her patients.
She had access to electricity, so of course used that on specimens that were stil wriggling which had passed out of the digestive tract, and found out about that effect, of sawtooth-wave electricity (zapping) upon the nematodes, tapeworms, worms, etc.
She became interested in trying to understand the full meaning of the instruction, 'annoint' in the original hebrew, and in her book is a somewhat garbled but understandable english translation of the scripture, which could be interpreted as 'have him or her bend over and put the mix of oils from the herbs up their bum'.
Colonics/enemas were also a common Egyptian medicinal technique.
The benefit of herbology against modern pharmacology is that the plants which produce the active ingredients to fight infections both parasitic and bacterial are actively fighting those wormy and wiggly tiny things in the soil already,
In that respect, isolated pharmaceutical ingredients which are, to begin with, formulated often from molecular analysis and testing of each extracted compound on animals and the target critter, superior. The herbal treatment is more 'whole', like the difference between giving a person a bike, or just the handlebars. You can tell me which one will achieve the stated purpose?
The deworming pharmaceuticals are not useless, but for best treatment, need to be taken in cycling (there are three with best effect) month per month, with adequate alkaline minerals supplemented and eaten, and enzymes, to prevent damage to the liver while the colonial critters are rotting carcasses that the body must digest.
The porportion (amount) of bitter herbs the hebrews would have eaten together with the meat is debateable, but combining one foodsource worms love, with one foodsource worms hate, is a perfect way to trigger release from the intestinal tract. This is done, for example, with applesauce mixed up with heavy amounts of cayenne pepper- taken in sufficient quantities for one day causes
Tapeworms to dump their eggsacks which can be seen in feces. Dumping their segments (eggsacks) happens because their are stimulated powerfully by the glucose they obtain from the blood they feed upon, attacked by boron from the apple (anticandidic), and attacked by the immune system as the cayenne molecules stimulate the intestinal tract to produce glutathione peroxidase right where the worm is feeding. These molecules attack the worm's system right inside it's gut, and a survival response is triggered, to lighten the load (detach the eggsacks) and regather it's immune system resources to prevent it's own demise. Boron and peroxidases oxidize internal tissues inside the worm. The same processes (production of reactive oxdative particles) is present in our own biology. Too much ROS, we die.
Moshe's passover recipie was appropriate for the purpose of both the symbolic meanings he wanted to convey to the hebrew tribes (separation, renewal, purification, etc), but also to provide the minerals, antioxidants, fats and protiens needed for the two-week journey across hard, dry terrain between goshen (the reed sea) and the larger body of water, the red sea. A meal of carbohydrates or simple vegetables would not have supplied a source of energy for frantic activity in early dawn hours as the strongest and most cherished of egypt's people died. For more information on the phenomenon of the ten plagues and the egyptians, research the eruption of santorini (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Santorini,+Greece/@36.4071538,25.4206309,6z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x1499ce86adfd9ff7:0xb2a761f740d68afc , the small island in the ring of islands is the remaining volcanic crown of what used to be a whole volcano). The young men would have been the most exposed to bacterial fallout in the aftermath of the series of red tide, death of cattle, and then volcanic ash inhalation from the santorini eruption. Pumic rocks from santorini have been found as far away from the island as middle and southern egypt. Red tide is a periodic phenomon dependant upon climactic conditions in ethiopia.
If you want to know more about scripture and it's herbals, here's a tidbit- the oil-recipie given for annointing new priests into service includes cannabus oil, well known for it's psychotropic effects (THC molecyle), but also anti-fungal and anti-biotic properties.
