Home remedies often can reduce problematic acidic sinus symptoms, according to the October issue of Mayo Clinic Women's HealthSource.
Stage 1 to stage 4 acidic symptoms, including nasal congestion, facial pain, headache and fatigue, are common. Annually, doctors report about 32 million cases of chronic sinusitis -- when patients' symptoms last 12 consecutive weeks. Evidence shows that home remedies are an inexpensive, effective first course of treatment. Consider these alkalizing pH Miracle tips:
1) Use nasal irrigation or an alkaline nasal spray. Researchers have found that flushing out the nose twice a day with a Sea Salt water (saline) solution can effectively treat and even prevent sinusitis "attacks." Spraying an alkaline saline solution pHour salts or pHlavor salts into the nasal cavity several times a day also eases congestion. You prepare these alkaline nasal solutions as follows:
Take 1 scoop of phour salts and mix into 3 to 4 ounces of distilled or purified alkaline water. Use this solution to irrigate the sinuses. You can use this solution of pHour salts in a neti poti. View a demonstration on how to irrigate the sinuses with a neti poti at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8sDIbRAXlg
Take 1 teaspoon of pHlavor salts and mix into 3 to 4 ounces of distilled or purified alkaline water. Use this solution of pHlavor salts to irrigate the sinuses. You can also use this solution in a neti poti to irrigate the sinuses.
2) Steam the sinus cavities. Drape a towel over your head as you breathe in the steam from a bowl of hot water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHour salts. Hot showers also help.
3) Apply warm compresses. Place warm, damp towels around your nose, cheeks and eyes for 20 to 30 minutes, two to four times a day to ease facial pain. Place hot water bottles over the towels to keep them warm.
4) Drink plenty of alkaline fluids with a pH of at least 9.5 and an ORP of at least -150 mV. Alkaline fluids help dilute mucus and promote drainage.
5) Avoid alcohol, coffee, tea, soft drinks and high Sugar fruit drinks. Drinking alcohol, coffee, tea, soft drinks and high Sugar fruit drinks are highly acidic and can worsen swelling of the lining of the nose and sinuses.
6) Don't smoke cigarettes, cigars or marijuana. And avoid exposure to secondhand smoke.
7) Exercise everyday for at least 1 hour to improve circulation and remove acidic mucous from the sinuses. If you cannot exercise use the Vibra pHirm, a whole body exerciser for at least
10 minutes a every day. For more information on whole body exercising go to:
http://www.phmiracleliving.com/p-304-vibraphirm.aspx
8) Spray 5 ml of a Colloidal Gold , copper and silver combination in each nostril at least 2 to 3 times a day. You can also use 5 ml of a Colloidal Gold , copper and silver combination in a neti poti.
9) Drink at least 100 grams of super polyunsaturated oils from hemp, flax, avocado, olive, just to name a few. The increased oil will help to reduce metabolic and dietary acid, build healthy blood and in turn healthy body cells.
10) Take at least 2000 mgs. of magnesium oxide 3 to 4 times a day with meals to clear the bowel of undigested protein and mucous. People who have sinus problems have digestion problems including congestion of the bowel. "When you clear the bowel you clear the the headache, the facial pain, the fatigue and the sinus congestion," states Dr. Robert O. Young, head of research at the pH Miracle Living Center
All cases of sinusitis are caused by an over-acidic lifestyle and diet. The use of Antibiotics , which are also highly acidic will only make the sinuses more congested and the symptoms worse. "Never use Antibiotics if you want to heal the bowel and clear the sinuses," states Dr. Young.
Other alkalizing options are to reverse sinusitis by nebulizing the Young pHorever pHour salts, Young pHorever pHlavor salts and/or Colloidal Gold , copper and silver 1 to 2 times a day.
Allergies, nasal polyps and other acidic conditions can be related to acidic sinusitis and may be reversed with the pH Miracle alkaline lifestyle, diet and nutrition.

For the Raw Foodies looking to use nutrient-rich raw and organic care for the skin.
(NaturalNews) If you're looking for a deep hair conditioner that's chemical free, look no further than virgin coconut oil. Coconut oil is one of the best hair conditioners around and if it's virgin and organic, it's chemical free. Coconut oil can literally bring softness back to your hair - and part of its power lies in its disease fighting medium chain fatty acids. Coconut oil's unique fatty acids have a very small molecular structure and just as they can pass freely into the cell of a virus to destroy it, they can also pass easily into your hair's cell membrane. This allows the nourishing oil to penetrate your hair's shaft - and literally brings deep conditioning from within. While other conditioners work from the outside in, coconut oil is able to work from the inside out.
Another key benefit of coconut oil is that it contains plentiful antioxidants to protect from free radical damage, including heat and environmental damage. Most commercial conditioners use processed vegetable oils that actually create free radicals and are completely stripped of their original antioxidant power.
Massaging the oil into your scalp is powerful too. Coconut oil is nourishing for your scalp and because the oil is a natural antifungal, coconut oil can offer relief from dandruff conditions. Dandruff is often caused by an internal fungal condition that reaches the scalp, called candida overgrowth. With regular use, coconut oil can kill the fungus in the scalp and dandruff issues can be eliminated. Then, you can say good-bye to chemically oriented dandruff shampoos that - like all chemicals - add to your body's toxic burden.
Because coconut oil readily absorbs into the skin, when it's applied to your scalp, it also absorbs into your blood for a quick dose of a powerful natural antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial - and one that germs and bugs don't build immunity against. Most people would agree that that's not a bad thing to be doing regularly in the days of super bugs and regularly compromised immune systems. To enhance this effect, you can also use the oil on your entire body instead of chemical-based lotions. Just apply a little head to toe after your shower, rub it in, and let it absorb a few minutes before toweling off.
For deep hair conditioning, use a teaspoon or two on damp hair and leave it in as long as possible. A few hours is helpful but if you leave it in overnight - or even a few days - you'll really start to see results. This deep conditioning can be done as often as once a week and you may need to wash your hair a couple times to remove all of it. Know that coconut oil can stain fabric though, so be sure to protect your clothes and bedding.

(NaturalNews) Tissue salts are minerals essential to assisting the body to maintain a healthy balance in the bones, teeth, muscles, tissues and nerve
cells. If the body is lacking in certain tissue salts, an imbalance may occur at the cellular level which can lead to poor health conditions or disease.
Skin conditions such as itchiness, dry skin, flaking, eczema or Psoriasis may be remedied by taking the relevant tissue salts.
Nat. Phos. (Tissue salt no. 10) fights the acidity that can cause the skin to itch and flake. Add 20 drops of liquid Nat. Phos. to a half cup of warm
water. Dab onto the skin when itchiness is unbearable.
Nat. Phos. is found naturally in herbs such as coriander, cumin and ginger. Foods rich in this mineral include raspberries, apples, apricots, strawberries,
grapes and asparagus. A drink made of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice also reduces acidity in the body.
Nat. Sulph. (Tissue salt no. 11) works as a cell cleanser and helps to detoxify the liver. Take 2 to 4 tables, 3 times per day, to ease immediate
irritations. Apply Nat. Sulph. topically by crushing 6 - 10 tablets and dissolving them in a little water. Apply to the affected area with a cotton swab
for itchiness, chafed skin and even eczema.
Eat foods containing Nat. Sulph. such as broccoli, cabbages, leeks, beetroot leaves, green peppers, bananas and apples. Herbs to eat containing this
mineral include burdock, mullein, yarrow, parsley and celery.
Silica (Tissue salt no. 12) - Silica should be naturally present in the skin, hair, nails and bones. It eliminates toxins and is known as a cell cleanser.
This mineral helps when skin is flaking or when painful cracks appear on fingers in the winter time. It is said to reduce surface wrinkles and to improve
lusterless skin, hair and nails. The recommended dosage is 2 silica tables to be taken 2 to 4 times a day.
Herbs including silica are dandelion leaves, stinging nettle tips, horsetail and comfrey. Silica rich foods include chicory, spinach, lettuce, lemons and
pomegranates.
An important tissue
in skin care, tissue salt no. 7 (Kali. Sulph.) helps in the treatment of psoriasis, eczema and rashes. For children suffering with eczema, rashes or
childhood diseases such as chicken pox, give Kali. Sulph in liquid form as per the recommended dosage. It may also be used as a lotion or taken in tablet
form. Take 2 tablets, three to five times a day, to clear a specific condition. Kali. Sulph. also works as a skin rejuvenator.
Foods rich in Kali. Sulph. include almonds, rye, oats and carrots. Herbs to eat are watercress, linseed, mustard and melissa.
Chapped skin and fissures around the lips, heels and nails may be helped with tissue salt no. 1 (Calc. Fluor).

These are but just a few of the most popular ingredients to start off with. Will be adding more.
Parabens: Used as preservatives in many, many products, parabens (such as methyl-, ethyl-, propyl-, butyl-, isobutyl- and others) have shown hormonal activity. The estrogenic activity of parabens may be linked to the development of breast cancer.
Propylene Glycol: Found in many skin moisturisers (and now even in processed foods and throat pastilles), propylene glycol is used as the base ingredient in the manufacture of brake fluid and industrial anti-freeze. It is used in skin care products because it glides on smoothly, drawing moisture to the outer layers of the skin, giving
the appearance of moisturizing the skin. However it greatly damages and ages the
skin. It also causes skin rashes and dryness.
Vaseline (also referred to as Petroleum Jelly and Baby Oil): Commonly used in cold creams, lip protection and baby creams, it coats the skin just like plastic wrap. The skin’s natural immune barrier is disrupted as this coating inhibits its ability to breathe. It can cause premature skin aging as well as allergic reactions in sensitive
individuals.
Phthalates: Used widely in lotions, fragrances, deodorants, nail polishes, and hair care products, phthalates act like a moisturizer and help lotions penetrate the
skin. However, this family of chemical plasticizers has been found to produce liver
cancer and birth defects in lab animals. Phthalates are often hidden behind the
term fragrance, so choose products labelled “fragrance-free” or which are scented
exclusively with pure botanical or essential oils.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES): Used as
detergents and surfactants, these closely-related compounds are used in car
wash soaps, garage floor cleaners and engine degreasers. Yet SLS and SLES are
major ingredients in cosmetics, toothpastes, hair conditioners and about 90% of
all shampoos and cleansing products that foam. They can cause eye irritation,
permanent damage in children’s eyes, skin rashes, hair loss, flaking skin and mouth
ulceration. When combined with other ingredients, they can form nitrosamines,
which are carcinogenic. Both chemicals easily penetrate the skin and can lodge
themselves in the heart, lungs, liver and brain.
Formaldehyde: A cheap preservative found in eye shadows, mascaras and many hair care products, formaldehyde is toxic, carcinogenic and probably the most irritating ingredient used in personal care products. It is listed as “formalin” on product labels instead of its common name, formaldehyde, to veil its presence.
Diethanolamine (DEA) and derivatives such as triethanolamine (TEA): Widely used in shampoos, these ingredients can cause allergic reactions, irritate the eyes and dry the hair and skin. DEA and its derivatives can be contaminated with nitrosamines
which are toxic pollutant bi-products and have been linked with cancer, especially in
the kidneys and liver.
Isopropyl Alcohol: A poisonous solvent which alters the structure of other
chemicals. Found in body rubs, hand lotions, after shave lotions, fragrances and hair
colour rinses. Can cause nausea, vomiting, headaches, flushing and depression. It can
also dry the skin and hair and create cracks and fissures in the skin which encourage
bacterial growth.
Talc: Found in baby powders, face powders and body powders as well as on some
contraceptives such as condoms, talc is a known carcinogen. A major cause of ovarian
cancer when used in the genital area. Can also lodge in the lungs, causing respiratory
disorders.
Fragrance: This ingredient almost always denotes the use of synthetic
fragrance compounds. Fragrances are known to cause the majority of allergic
reactions to cosmetics.
(NaturalNews) There are compelling reasons to make your own skin care products. Federal law doesn`t require companies to provide data on product safety nor does it demand full disclosure of ingredients on product labels. Evidence continues to mount that personal care products are brimming with unsafe ingredients. Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database www.cosmeticsdatabase.com, a project of Environmental Working Group (EWG), shows that everyday store brands, expensive mail order products and upscale luxury skincare items commonly contain toxic substances. Even many reputable "natural" brands found in health food stores may harbor harmful ingredients linked to cancer, reproductive toxicity, allergies, neurotoxicity and endocrine disruption.
What are some of these ingredients?
Phthalates
*Phthalates are industrial chemicals used in plastics as well as skincare products. These compounds are some of the most abundant toxins in the environment. They have been implicated in reduced fertility. Studies have also found that they inhibit normal sexua| development by blocking the action of key hormones.
*In animal experiments, prenatal exposure to these chemicals has been linked to obesity in offspring.
*Recent research by Dr. Sheela Sathyanarayana of the University of Washington found phthalate breakdown products in the urine of 163 babies under two and half years of age. Eighty-one percent showed seven or more phthalates. This study, reported in the journal Pediatrics, noted that the use of infant skincare products was associated with increased concentrations of the compound.
Parabens
*These are a related group of chemicals used to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi in many products. Parabens have been found to cause allergic reactions.
*More seriously, parabens have a weak estrogenic effect. One study found the presence of parabens in breast tumors. Other studies note a potentially dangerous synergistic effect, multiplying the impact of parabens along with other endocrine disrupting agents in the environment.
1,4-dioxane
*An inexpensive process used to make emulsifiers, humectants and foaming agents generates this toxin. These agents may be indicated on the ingredient label as polyethylene, polyethylene glycol, polyethylene, polyoxyethylene, oxynol, myreth, oleth, laureth, ceteareth, the prefix "PEG" or "eth" in ingredient listings.
*A study commissioned by the Organic Consumers Association reveals the presence of 1,4-dioxane in leading "natural" skin care products www.organicconsumers.org/bodycare/D...
*1,4-dioxane is considered carcinogenic as well as a potential neurotoxin.
Isothiazolinones
*These chemicals are antimicrobal agents used in industry as well as personal care products. They are widely found in hair dye, shampoo, shaving cream, body wash and other products.
*They can be toxic to the respiratory system, cause allergies and negatively affect the immune system. If listed, they can be found on ingredient labels as methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone and other ingredients containing "chloro" or "methyl."
Triclosan
*This antibacterial agent is found in soap, toothpastes, shaving cream, mouthwash and other skin care products as well as "germ-resistant" toys, garbage bags and kitchen utensils.
*Triclosan is associated with endocrine disruption and allergies. Research published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives noted that triclosan may impact the brain`s neural circuitry, potentially affecting mental development.
*Triclosan is an environmental hazard. It can form chloroform gas in combination with chlorinated water and as it degrades in the environment it can form highly toxic compounds such as dioxin.
Talc
*Talc is a mineral, and although it may be a natural product, when used in talcum powder and cosmetics it has long been connected to adverse health effects.
*Forty years ago research linked cancer to talc application in the genital area. Women`s talcum powder use is associated with ovarian and cervical cancer. A 1971 study found three-quarters of ovarian tumors studied to contain talc particles.
*Talc is also related to respiratory distress and pulmonary disease, particularly when particles are inhaled.
__________
You have choices, including buying products from highly ethical companies known to avoid these toxins.
Your other choice? Consider making your own skin care products. It may be the best way to know exactly what you are using to wash your hands, powder your baby and soothe chapped lips. Once you have the necessary components and some experience, you will find that you get a better value for your money. You can also tweak the formulations for your own particular needs. In a larger sense you may discover that the process is imbued with much more meaning than purchasing plastic bottles of lotion, body wash and shampoo.
It goes without saying that you need high quality ingredients purchased from ethical sources. Use cold pressed oils. Make sure you use essential oils, not fragrance oils or perfumes. Choose herbs and essential oils for aroma as well as therapeutic properties. As with any product, closely gauge your reaction to determine if you are sensitive to any ingredient. Store your products in jars with tight-fitting lids. This can be a good way to re-purpose jars from olives, salsa, spices and other products.
Body Powder
total of 1 cup of any of the following: arrowroot powder, betonite clay, cornstarch,
baking soda. Find a mix that is deodorizing and absorbent for you.
optional: up to 1/4 cup dried herbs. Consider lavender, sage, calendula, oregano, rosemary,
thyme, clove or nutmeg (grind large particles using blender or food processor or
powder with mortar and pestle).
optional: up to 30 drops essential oil.
If you make body powder using only dry ingredients, mix carefully in a clean bowl or shake in a lidded jar to avoid breathing particles. If using essential oil, add drops to dry ingredients in a food processor or grind with mortar and pestle to incorporate oils.
Store in cleaned salt or spice containers with shaker tops, or use with powder puff in glass jar.
Healing Lip Balm
total of 2 ounces nourishing solid oils such as shea butter, cocoa
butter, coconut oil
total of 2 ounces nourishing liquid oils such as wheat germ oil, olive oil, almond oil
optional: 2 tablespoons healing herbs (calendula, echinacea, St. Johns wort, slippery elm,
comfrey, etc.)
2 ounces organic beeswax
optional: up to 30 drops essential oils (orange, mint, lavender, rose, etc.)
optional: natural vitamin E
If herbs are used, make an oil infusion. Place the oils and chosen herbs in a lidded glass jar. Heat them gently. Either allow them to stay warm in a sunny window for up to one week or place the jar in a larger container partially filled with water for at least one hour that is simmering on the stove or in the oven. Strain the oil and proceed.
Heat oil and beeswax over low heat until wax is melted. Remove from heat. Stir in essential oils and immediately pour into small containers. This makes an excellent lip balm or skin salve. Store in cool dark place. The ratio of oil to wax can be adjusted for cooler or warmer climates, firmer or softer balm, or other conditions such as added essential oils.
Shaving Cream
4 ounces hot water
optional: up to 4 tablespoons dried herbs (slippery elm, green tea, etc)
4 ounces grated bar soap (good quality, such as goat`s milk soap)
3 tablespoons solid oil such as coconut oil, shea butter or cocoa butter
10 drops essential oil (bay, tea tree, sage, orange, etc)
If herbs are chosen, make infusion by pouring boiling water over herbs. Let steep in covered container from 1 to 8 hours. Strain in fine sieve or through cloth. Reheat infusion water, dissolve grated soap in hot water. Melt oil of choice into hot liquid. You may choose to use a mixer or blender to incorporate the soap and oil into the water. Cool. Blend in essential oils. Use additional water if necessary. Store in lidded container, shake well before using.
Shaving Gel
4 ounces organic liquid Castile soap
up to 3 ounces hot water
3 tablespoons vegetable glycerine
up to 10 drops essential oils (tea tree, orange, grapefruit, rosemary, etc)
optional: 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt , 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel
Blend ingredients well. Shake before using.
Shampoo
6 ounces water
4 tablespoons dry herbs (chamomile, sage, lavender, green tea, nettle, etc.)
4 ounces organic liquid Castile soap
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon high quality oil (olive, coconut, grapeseed, jojoba, etc)
optional: up to 50 drops essential oil (choose from orange, rosemary, tea tree, mint, etc.)
optional ingredients: 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon
apple cider vinegar
Make an herbal infusion by boiling the water and pouring over the chosen herbs. Allow to steep in covered container for 1 to 8 hours. Strain through fine sieve or fabric (old t-shirt works well). Pour the infusion and remaining shampoo ingredients into lidded container and shake to mix. Ingredients will separate between uses. Always shake well before use.

Make Your Own Skin Care Products
It's hard to find any truly "real" natural skin care products. In my search I've come across a company that has an amazing line that not only has natural organic ingredients, but is also RAW! ~~ it's called Raw Gaia! They use "only cold-pressed, organic and vegan ingredients, infused with essential oils and floral waters of the finest quality." They claim that their skin care line is made of PURE and ALIVE nourishing and beautifying ingredients, which retain all the life force, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids due to their low temperature processing.
This is how this company started:
"For years Lisa Lennon suffered from very dry skin. She had looked everywhere for a really good moisturiser, whose ingredients would get as close to nature as possible and that would be free of any chemical and toxic ingredients. Unable to find anything suitable, Lisa started experimenting in the kitchen and doing some research.
By that time, her and her husband Hector Bolanos had been following a diet high in raw foods for about five years. The principle behind a raw food diet is that uncooked vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and sprouted grains provide your body with the best nutrition. In their natural state, these foods contain much more life energy, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs, etc., than when they are cooked.
So it made sense for Lisa to try and develop a cream following the same principle. And since the couple would buy only organic food and are passionate vegans, she evidently wanted to make a product that reflected these choices too.
After months of trial and error, research and perseverance, Lisa came up with the first ever “living” skin care product, what is now called For Her Daughters Living Moisturiser. It was (and still is) hand-made through a special low temperature process, using only organic, cold-pressed butters and oils, infused with some essential oils.
Lisa was amazed with the results since her skin condition had improved remarkably within days! The reason for this was simple: all the life energy, antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and natural goodness in the natural ingredients were truly nourishing and healing her skin.
Lisa gave the moisturiser to a few people to try. The feedback and response was so wonderful that the couple soon realised they had a brilliant product on their hands and that without intending to, Lisa had created a completely new concept in skin care. The couple started selling this moisturiser and soon developed a whole range of living skin care products."
Can't wait to get my hands on these products!!!

(NaturalNews) Botox is the fastest growing treatment for wrinkles. 3,181,592 people were injected with botox in the United States alone last year, and it is becoming incredibly popular in another 75 countries where it has been approved. Yet this is a toxic poison so dangerous that it could actually be used as a "weapon of mass destruction." Sure, it may smooth out the wrinkles by paralyzing the muscles, but the results don't seem to be worth it.
According to Public Citizen, who analyzed FDA data on Botox from 1997 to 2006, 180 patients developed life-threatening conditions after being injected with Botox. There were 16 deaths and 87 hospitalizations. Four of the deaths occurred in children under 18. This paralysing poison can also cause paralysis of the respiratory muscles and dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), leading to pneumonia and fluid in the lungs.
In addition to botox, people are grasping at their youth through dangerous laser surgeries, toxic chemical peels, and cow collagen injections among others.
Yet the answers to beautiful, glowing skin are in our lifestyles and in nature. The skin is the largest organ of the body, and our overall health is reflected on it. Botox and other techniques can mask the problems for a while, but it the problems will eventually come through, if not on our skin then in our health. No matter what our age, we can make changes in our lives that will show up on our skin.
Here are 7 steps to ensuring beautiful, glowing skin.
1. Avoid food intolerances
If you are intolerant to certain foods, it may show up as bags or dark circles under the eyes. Sugar is one of the most aging toxins, since fluctuating blood sugars are highly aging. Cow's milk is linked with Acne and poor skin quality. Excess alcohol and other toxins that make the liver overworked can make the skin look overworked. A healthy Diet that is filled with foods that nurture is the key to radiant skin.
2. Avoid Free Radicals and Eat Loads of Antioxidants
Free radicals such as house hold chemicals and cigarettes cause aging. The irony is that all of these expensive creams and potions that promise to turn back the years, along with botox and other processes cause free radical damage that will eventually appear on the skin, no matter how much they seem to work in the short term.
But despite our efforts to avoid toxins, we are still going to come into contact with free radicals. Even exercise causes free radicals. Consuming as many antioxidants as possible is the natural antidote. Kale, cabbage, chilli peppers, parsley artichokes and Brussels sprouts are some of the most powerful vegetables. Berries, pineapple, pomegranate, prunes and kiwis are some of the fruits with the highest antioxidant activity. Raw chocolate, bee pollen, goji berries, and spirulina are just a few of the new super foods shown to dramatically reduce aging, as well as most other health issues.
3. Find Your Optimum Weight and Stay There
The endless cycle of losing weight, gaining it back only to go on yet another diet is terrible for the skin, not to mention dangerous for the body and exhausting for the mind. This constant rise and fall of weight can potentially cause wrinkles and saggy skin. Maintaining your optimum weight keeps skin firm and youthful. Cutting out or at least dramatically reducing the amount of "dead" food such as bread, pasta and rice while significantly increasing the amount of living food like fruits and vegetables is a simple change you can make to find your ideal weight and enjoy optimum health.
.
4. Limit Intense Sun Exposure
Excess sun exposure can cause skin damage. Yet this fact has been taken to the extreme, making people scared of getting any sun at all. The key is to get short bursts of sun so that you don't get sun burned. Eating plenty of antioxidants will actually make you less likely to get sun burned.
On the other hand, sunscreen has been shown to cause aging and disease, so covering up when the skin has had too much sun is far more effective. Research indicates that broccoli sprouts are an especially good natural sunscreen food, and scientists are attempting to create a sunscreen out of them.
5. Moisturise with Nature's Most Perfect Oil
Coconut oil keeps the skin strong and supple, preventing sagging, wrinkled skin. It protects from free radicals and is a natural sunscreen. It prevents dry skin, blemishes and liver spots. It even has the ability to restore and rejuvenate damaged skin. It heals and repairs, leaving the skin radiant and youthful.
Coconut oil has been used for centuries by people all over the world. It is nature's oldest and most popular moisturiser and youth restorer. Who needs botox and toxic skin creams when there is nature??
6. Ensure you Get Plenty of Essential Fats
Omega-3 fatty acids are a key ingredient for beautiful skin. Most people are seriously lacking in these fats that are vital for vibrant, healthy looking skin. Eczema, dry skin, cracked heels and premature aging are all signs of omega 3 deficiency. Omega-3 fats prevent dehydration in the cells so that the skin cells are strong and full of moisture. Fish oil and Alaskan wild salmon are good sources of omega 3. If you are a vegan, you can use hemp, linseed and chia seeds.
7. Relax Your Facial Muscles
Be aware of your facial expressions. If you frown a lot, try to relax the muscles. This is actually a good form of meditation. Go around your face and discover where there is tension or holding. Breathe into the area and feel it let go. Focus on all of the key muscles groups and feel them melting into relaxation.

Seven Steps to Gorgeous, Radiant Skin
By Doug Kaufmann
Email was relatively new in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s and few of us old timers knew how to use it anyway. I was working at that time for Dallas Dermatologist, David Weakley, M.D. Let me start at the end this time and work toward the beginning of this newsletter.
I was finally able to receive emails. Helen’s email simply stated:
Doug, that pink pill (I think it was called diflucan) was the best anti-depressant I’ve ever taken in my 13 years of suffering from depression. May I get more of them? Helen
WELCOME TO KNOW THIS…..THE NEWSLETTER THAT LITERALLY CHANGES EVERYTHING!
Dr. Weakley was a brilliant man. I say “was” because he passed away many years ago. He graduated from Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and moved to Dallas, Texas to begin his dermatology practice. He was board certified in Dermatology and attracted some of this nation's best dermatologists to work with him. He was on the scientific board of a national Psoriasis foundation in N. California, and was also a respected contributor to “Cutis” a widely marketed professional dermatology journal. What he wasn’t, however, is more applicable to this newsletter.
In 1986, he wasn’t a believer that fungus could cause skin disorders. As a matter of fact, he vehemently denied such a link and felt comfortable telling me where he stood on the issue. During our phone conversations, he’d tell me that he worked with some of the brightest dermatology minds and medical researchers in the world and that “if” fungus caused psoriasis, they would surely already know it. Welcome to the past 40-years of my career! I lived in Los Angeles then and, during one such conversation, he invited me to come to Dallas and see how badly these Psoriasis patients suffer before being so flippant as to insinuate that fungus could cause their disease. Four days later, I was in Dallas.
There is an old saying that many live their lives by; when the student is ready, the teacher appears. I was willing to travel knowing full well that one day, hopefully sooner than later, Dr. Weakley would become the student and I the teacher. Egos, I felt, prevented many of our brightest from knowing the cause. After meeting me and feeling more comfortable with the relationship, he invited me to see some of his most difficult skin diseased patients. I remember thinking, “These are his worst? California must have more mold than Texas!" David knew that there was nothing more he could do for these severe Psoriasis patients and they actually seemed to be happy to meet me, hoping that I might offer something different that might finally help them. I returned to Dallas often to follow up with these great new friends.
Neither of us was aware of what those early months together would bring towards a better understand of skin disorders. Sometimes at quitting time (5PM), he would call me into his office and review patient charts in absolute amazement. He’d read my notes for a few minutes and then he’d keep saying, “Amazing!” “Why don’t we know this, Doug?” I’d repeat, “You do now and we must help as many people as we can.”
One day, he offered me a 5-year contract to relocate to Dallas, Texas and assist him in helping his toughest patients. Like other physicians before, Dr. Weakley eventually became comfortable allowing me to give input in his psoriasis patients’ treatment. He trusted me enough to routinely prescribe a systemic antifungal drug (usually Diflucan) and a gut antifungal drug (Nystatin) while I placed his patients on what is now called the “Phase One Diet.” Be it acne, psoriasis, perioral dermatitis (seriously! It’s called muzzle rash!), or eczema, in many cases, we had finally discovered “the cause” of their suffering. I asked the patients to return for a visit with Dr. Weakley and me in 2 weeks after beginning this new therapeutic approach. Having seen favorable responses like these hundreds of times already, I knew that when he saw more proof of the fungal link to skin diseases, and with his great contacts, soon we would be able to publish these findings in respected medical journals and forever close the door on “etiology unknown” dermatology. Yes, I was a dreamer in the 1980’s! In only 14 days, many came back grinning from ear to ear with the amazing results that they had already seen. I know that long time KNOW THIS readers and fungus aficionados alike will fully comprehend this next sentence. In reality by helping so many, we had placed the management of their serious skin diseases directly back in their hands. This, my friends, is why “etiology unknown” sells so well in the halls of Science today. If we can literally control our own symptoms before they become diseases, or even control our own diseases….would we finally be able to reduce our personal healthcare insurance policies and even our doctor visits? You’re beginning to see the big picture of why I contend that medicine works so hard to maintain the status quo.
One afternoon, Dr. Weakley did contact one of the major dermatology journals in my presence and spoke to the editor who was an obvious friend of his. He became outraged after that call when he learned that the journal refused to publish any article in which fungus was claimed to be “the cause” of skin disorders. Of course, this was not news to me, but it was to him. It upset him so much that he questioned his work of 40 years by calling their withholding of factual information “a blatant cover-up!” Having another individual actually stand in my shoes was a remarkable experience, especially a prominent physician who was finally “getting it!” That incident, a dissolving partnership and an unsuccessful try at introducing surgery into his practice all cost him a great deal of worry and stress. In a short time, Dr. Weakley passed away, but not before Helen figured out what caused her depression. He was kind enough to fill the prescription for her.
The term “skin deep” is one that is used far too often and abused almost every time. Within the context of this article, keep in mind that, in almost every case, if not every case, what I learned from my years working with Dr. Weakley was the shear magnitude of illness and the impact it has on patients. I learned that it wasn’t rare to have his patients request quick service when checking in at his front office. They were there for a 9:30 appointment, had a 10:00 meeting with their psychiatrist in the same building and then an 11:00 appointment with their chiropractor, who was across town.
Toward the end, Dr. Weakley would ask the patients why they were so hurried in his office. After explaining their hectic schedule filled with doctors' appointments, he’d be fascinated as they taught him that our program had finally relieved not only the skin problems, but also their Depression and pain. No longer were they relegated to 3 or 4 doctor visits on their day off. They got it! They know that the very reason all of their complaints were resolving was because we were successfully killing fungus as part of their treatment in ridding their dermatologic problems! Who would have thought that Depression was linked to fungus, and yet fungal growth in the brain is very well documented phenomenon. Clinicians simply know nothing about it!
At this late point in his career, Dr. Weakley simply could not believe what his eyes were seeing and his ears were hearing. Even though he knew that Diflucan only killed fungus, he had finally seen enough that he was certain that Helen’s Depression had, indeed, responded favorably to a simple antifungal pill. He renewed her prescription and she was very thankful, for as long as she took that pink pill, she was not depressed for a few days at a time. Of course, today we know that compliance to an eating program based on continual starving of fungus, might have totally weaned her off of the Diflucan.
As you ponder my many years of trial and tribulations or laugh at the real way the phase one diet was “invented,” keep in mind that there were many guardian angels along the way. I remember the last time I saw Dr. Weakley. He was fragile and very weak. He was still angry about his failed attempts at introducing surgery into his practice and his partnership problems. But he was also one of my guardian angels. He fought me initially, as most do, but he was willing to take a chance because he truly loved his patients and, in doing so, he helped many more than other dermatologists. Even if it meant spending a few weeks with me while disproving my methods as analogous to snake oil, he was willing to do it for his patients, whom he always told me had suffered enough. Had I failed, my guess is that any one of his respected medical journals would have jumped at publishing such quackery! In the end, he did help hundreds of his patients and, by doing so, he was able to pass away knowing that he had finally discovered a piece of the clinical puzzle that few brilliant men ever do.
Today, I say FUPO! Please always think Fungus Until Proven Otherwise when ill suffering from health problems. Find a physician who cares about his patients' welfare and teach him as I did many years ago.

Doug Kauffman appears to have been on the leading edge of fungal related skin disorders. In the days that he speaks of here, he was all MD/allopathic. Rx is NOT a barefooters' choice for combatting systemic fungal conditions, but the use of herbs and the right essential oils would be! Please note that he mentions diet. ~PC~
(NaturalNews) In today's often hectic world, all some of us really want to be doing is sitting in a spa. Spas, however, are often known for outrageous prices, but the good news is you can make many simple spa treatments right in your own home. Even better: many spa treatments offer health benefits, aside from a relaxing afternoon and break from the madness of the outside world. Plus, when we're relaxed we tend to be happier, which influences every interaction we have.
Natural Salt Baths
Natural salt baths are a great way to relax and as a bonus, each of the baths below helps detoxify us too. Epsom Salt baths are well known to relax the muscles while neutralizing acids in the body at the same time. Baking soda baths are known to remove radiation as well as alkalize the body. Quality Sea Salt s are especially beneficial as they clear negative energy from our bodies - which is particularly helpful after a stressful day or encounter. With any of these, just add one or two cups to any bath - and jump in and relax.
Essential Oil Baths
Essential oils can also be added to any bath, and some popular ones include lavender, rose, rosemary, or tea tree oils. Lavender is known for relaxation, rose for reducing nervous tension, and rosemary for mental invigoration. Tea tree is great for skin problems, including acne, fungal and bacterial problems. Use about fifteen drops of essential oil in each bath.
Relaxing Spa Waters
One of the best things about being at a spa is the waters they often have available. They're often tinted with cucumber or lemon and are a delight to drink. Cucumber water can be easily made at home using a half gallon of purified water and a thinly sliced cucumber. Just combine, refrigerate and let sit overnight before consuming.
Another delicious spa water can be made using whole jasmine flowers. Just pick a large handful of jasmine flowers (that haven't been sprayed with chemicals), stir them into a half gallon of purified water, and let sit for four hours or more before consuming.
These spa waters are delicious, refreshing, and especially nice to hydrate in. Jasmine is known to lift poor moods and heal the female reproductive system, while cucumber is great for the skin and has cooling properties.
Homemade Body Scrub
Sea salt and coconut oil body scrubs are invigorating and exfoliating at the same time. Just use a couple tablespoons of quality Sea Salt s with a tablespoon or two of coconut oil in the shower as a full body scrub. Wash before using and just rinse the scrub off, without using soap. Afterward, your skin will likely feel better than you can remember, but be careful of any slippery surfaces with the oil.
Enzyme Treatments for the Skin
Enzymes are a popular exfoliant in spa treatments but because enzymes are hard to keep alive, using fresh fruit is often better than an expensive jar based potion. There are many ways to prepare enzyme-rich facial and body treatments, and most of them start with papaya or pineapple - or both. Just blend a little pineapple and/or papaya and add any of the following optional ingredients below that you like.
Aloe: Hydrates the skin.
Oatmeal: Acts as a scrub.
Lemon juice: Lightens the skin and age spots (as does papaya).
Honey: Moisturizes and offers antibacterial protection.
Then, rub your mixture on your face or entire body and leave it on for ten minutes before washing it off with a washcloth.
