I started taking GABA today. an I also started taking ALOT of other shit to try an grasp reality a little better. Taking magnesium(250mg today an got diareah), vit c, lechitin, b complex as well.
Make sure the magnesium is an acidified form such as magnesium malate or citrate. Do not use magnesium oxide, which is poorly absorbed and burns the intestinal wall making it more likely to cause diarrhea.
I feel slightly clearer in my mind after the gaba. But I just ate some chicken with some cumin on it, i forgot i was slightly allergic to cumin. My chest feels tight, getting some anxiety, getting itchy, an my breathing feels weird...like i'm not getting enough oxygen.
I recommend keeping some straight quercetin on hand. Quercetin is a naturally occurring bioflavonoid, commercially derived from yellow onion skins. It acts as a natural antihistamine by blocking cyclic adenosine monophosphate breakdown. A s quercetin breaks down it forms another beneficial bioflavonoid called rutin. So it is safe and very effective. Look for quercetin by itself (400-500mg), not the QBC (quercetin, bromelain and vitamin C). I recommend one capsule as needed.
Is it safe to take benzos when i'm taking GABA?
Not recommended.
I know gaba is supposed to calm you down. But I don't feel any calmer, maybe it's the B complex...it makes me shakey an way to energetic. I feel a little clearer in my mind, but instead of the out of reality feeling. Now i just have the regular old "racing" anxiety. It's gotta be the B complex...cause it happened last time I took that shit.
GABA is hard to absorb due to the large molecule size and it takes about 750mg or higher dose to have a real effect for most people. The amino acid glycine is easier to absorb and is also a neurotransmitter inhibitor like GABA. If you cannot find glycine then taurine would be the next choice. All of these need to be taken on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before meals so absorption is not inhibited.
I'm cutting out the B tomorrow, an cumin. Hopefully this doesn't happen again. I'm debating whether or not a hospital visit is in order if my breathing gets any worse.
If you have any quercetin, watercress or nettle leaf all of these are antihistamine.
