Day 3
“It is always the simple things that change our lives. And these things never happen when you are looking for them to happen. Life will reveal answers at the pace life wishes to do so. You feel like running, but life is on a stroll. This is how God does things.”

I slept for a good 9 hours today. While half-asleep, I decided to make a trip to the university to review and borrow guide books for school. Thank goodness I left at 1pm because by the time I reached the medical library, I only had 1.5 hrs to browse and select the suitable books. I borrowed Medical Microbiology at a glance, Medical Immunology at a Glance, Medical Pharmacology at a glance, Pharmacology main text, Basic concepts in Pathology and Pathology secrets. I am not new to medical school, but have always found the typical immediate dive into heavy text just too overwhelming and exhuasting, so last friday I decided to read up guides before venturing into main text. How I will modify my study texhniques is to use succinct(hency unintimidating) guides as a compass to all the salient keyopints of the chapter and supplementing and testing with main texts before assignments/quizzes. What works best for me is lots of illustrations. This is how I will approach medicine for this semester and see if it works.
Since my modem is spoilt, I decided to venture to the computer centre in the university after the library closed. Yup, no surprising new mails, except I have joined the medical yahoogroups and received my e-ticket to Istanbul at the end of Sept. Stumbled upon Late Night Alumni's "Beautiful" and took a liking to it.
Found a picture of Nicole Richie looking very healthy. Although not a fan of hers, my goal figure is her current one--but without the baby bump.
Physical symptoms:
-Flu is much better since the last two days, but my pharynx at the sternal level experiences slight irritation, nose is slightly blocked, sneezed out mucus, occasional cough, regained my voice but cannot speak at normal volume
-skin is very dry, esp at face, neck and upper torso(going to do a milk bath this evening) noticed that when i switch to rinsing in normal water, my skin dries out.
-right knuckles have reduced inflammation, skin show signs of repair
-inflammation still ongoing at elbow joints'
-inflammation still ongoing at knee joints(these areas discourage me the most)
-some inflammation on knee cap. bruises at this area are healing but due to the highest itch tendency of this area, it makes it harder for the bruises to heal.
-inflammatory areas around ventral feet seem to be healing, inflammations till ongoing
-weakness throughout body, walking tempo slowing a lot
-dizzy spells has begun, but lasting only 2-4 sec
-prefer quiet
-a lot of rumbling in the abdominal area
