Blog: My 120-day fast on vegan urine/water (later will add green juice)...

Start of day 8 on urine/water - going strong

A brief update, and a contrasting view of your brain on UF completely different from my experience

During sleep, I had two "tracings" or whatever you call when you have a brief worsening of illnesses you are prone to - one was something quite terrifying and death-ish that I experienced pre-fast almost daily, the other was a brief phase of feeling full of urine but passing very little very trickly-ly, not something I would have said was a big feature of my pre-fast existence at all, but it happened occasionally, as part, I figured, of systemic candida. The terrifying bit was at first terrifying, until I realized that it was what I experienced every night when _not_ fasting, and was thus probably some kind of working out of that problem, whatever mysterious manner of problem it is. So I slept on, and well (3 a.m. 8 oz. almost undrinkably strong). Today's plan - to do nothing, eyes closed! Cheated a bit yesterday evening listening to Mofungo - not one of their earlier, abrasive things - an accessible thing I picked up for a cent (gee I hope I'm never in a band and my record goes for one cent, but perhaps that is a badge of trememndous honor, considering what "moves units", as I think the prefabricated phrase is - Willie Klein now plays for The Escape by Ostrich). I feel obligated to share with you that CureZone's "superfriend" writes that his/her 10-day urine fast was "awesome" for his/her "brain" - "consciousness expanded more each day" throughout the fast, "weird and awesome". "More energy than I knew what to do with to say the least." I guess fasts really are individual things! However, if it is safety or weakness that concerns you about one, I say, take courage. I've done a week and feel easily I can keep going, so at least don't let the fear factor get in your way if you want to try it. You'll like it.

Note: as soon as I lay down and "did nothing" yesterday, I got caught up in feelings, a big angry involving (imaginary) "speech" to my parents, and so on. I don't necessarily recommend you "do nothing" on your fast, even if you are in any position to.If that's the sort of thing that happens, it seems patent that "doing nothing" is more stressful than reading! Don't you agree? As for myself, I see I have to learn how to do NOTHING, especially most of all THINK, internal monologue, and so forth. Must take more energy than digesting a vegan pizza, that.
