On the go and new restaurant
On the go, new raw food restaurant in town
Date: 3/3/2006 9:51:43 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 2272 times I have been crazy busy this week with auditions and bookings! I am sooo happy I got my stuff together and it has really paid off.
I have been packing my little red cooler filled with dulse dip, my essene bread, dried seaweed and cut veggies and fruit for snacks. Thank goodness I had that! I am really making an effort to plan my food the nite before so that I can remain on track. It just makes it easier so live this raw food lifestyle.
I am sooooo happy. An new restaurant opened in Chicago that is completely raw! Finally, a 2nd restaurant. With Chicago being such a big city, I just cannot even believe ther is only 2! That's the midwest for you...this is why I want to move to NY or CA. It is about freakin' time!
Here is a little snippet about the restaurant. I was trying to find the article they did on him...basically, he is like many of us. He had some weight to lose, did it the raw foods way. He owned 3 cooked food restaurants, basically close them all down, went to learn how to do 'raw food' and then opened this restaurant. When I find the article, I will post it. I read it at the restaurant today, it was truly inspiring. The food was to die for!!!! I am going to join the 28 day detox program as well. Should be the best thing after I do all these cleanses so I can get squeaky clean!
For all the classes, you might want to use the “Classics for Kids” CD or the “Ballet and Opera…” CD. Those are easiest tempos for them to follow.

Cousin's Turkish Fine Dining recently underwent a radical change, both with the décor and the menu. The hookah, Turkish artifacts and floor pillow seating made an exit, replaced by hues of "sun-earth-water" and "light-forest-energy" (that's yellow, green, blue and brown for the rest of us). The menu is now 100 percent meat free, leans toward organic and sustainable products and promotes raw and "living" foods. Why the 360? Chef Mehmet Ak (chef-proprietor of Cousin's) put himself through a raw foods dextox program last fall--he lost 70 pounds and dropped digits on both his blood pressure and cholesterol readings. He even trained at California's Living Light Culinary Arts Institute to brush up his raw skills. The menu still has hints of the Middle East with hummus, tabouleh and dolma, but now offers Mediterranean pasta and a vegetarian burger instead of the lamb chops. The eatery offers classes and workshops, plus there is a combo market/carryout /smoothie bar area.
Anyway, I have been overeating a bit, so I am going to go back in 'fasting' mode for a few days (juicing) b/c I feel my system needs to catch up and I have a really important booking next week. But I have continued to do the protocol for the kidney and parasite cleanse.
Blessings and Love -
