It is getting to be laughable - America the Afraid
Terrorism is not a threat to Americans in America.
Date: 8/21/2007 8:53:24 PM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 1817 times America has been on 'permanent alert' since 2001, but there have been no attacks from Islamic radicals in all that time, not even failed attacks. It seems a little overblown.
Americans are so afraid of attacks that might kill a few thousand people every 6 years. That many die in car crashes every month or so in the USA. Besides, Islamic radicals have said they never attack America's mainland, just American targets in Arab lands - thats a quote from bin Laden. Americans have little to fear from terrorism yet many of them still cower behind Baby Bush like scared liitle kids.
Meanwhile, the terrorists from Saudia Arabia are having a good chuckle at the idea that Bush wants to "fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here", because the Saudi radicals are happy as hell to have the fight in Iraq and Afghanistan rather than in Saudia Arabia. [So is Bush, being partners with Sauds in business.]
It is the America public that is being taken to the cleaners here. Their bridges are falling down, their 'exported to Iraq' National Gaurd is ineffective for hurricane recovery and so on, their economy and government budgets are broken and broke due to war expenditures [only weapons makers and military contractors are keeping the GDP numbers up].
Then there is global warming - if Shrub would spend half as much on the REAL threat of global warming as they do on their war on [fake] terror we could have reduced emissions to half by now! Of course, that goes against Bush's supporters who are demanding more and more fossil fuel burning occurs because it puts big money in their accounts.
However, if they are right, god will not allow humans to go wrong on big issues like energy use. Whew, now I can breathe easier. [sarcasm, sorry].
