eft, discussions and strong emotions

DH and I were having a discussion late at night. Sometimes that can lead to some strong emotions on both sides, and its usually not a good idea, but sometimes it happens anyway.

I am one who likes to keep strong emotions out of any discussion because for me it clouds the ability to reach understanding when people are defensive or upset. For me it is crying. There were some things that I knew I could not say, or I would cry. So I began just lightly tapping on the collarbone point or just staying there and breathing deeply. This allowed me to say everything and not cry. I felt calm. I was very happy. That's just the tool that I need to further my communication skills
