April 1, 2011

Happy April Fool's day. I haven't had anyone play one on me yet, but I look forward to it, as it is tradition in my family to have a good fun day. I have a couple fun tricks up my sleeve. I wonder if I will be able to pull them off. Hee hee.

Amazingly, I woke up feeling really good. I slept well, and didn't feel overly tired, especially when I got to sleep really late (after 2:00 a.m.). The only thing I could figure out is that since my liver is working overtime, cleaning me out and such, and in the past, when I have fasted and not sleep a lot, about 5 hours sleep must be perfect for me. I am sure that I will feel a bit more tired when 9 p.m. rolls around. I got up a bit late though, as I felt really cold, and didn't want to venture out of the cocoon of my blankets, regardless that Mekong was crying in my face. I brushed my teeth and tongue and realized that my tongue wasn't as white as it has been in the past in the morning time. I didn't seemingly have any really bad aches. My knee felt so much better as well. Of course, I bulked up on my shirts as I have been, and once again wore my legwarmers. Please, I hope nothing happens to me, that they have to check my clothing, because it would seem really odd for me to be wearing them under my pants. LOL I can be such an odd ball at times. Christy has seen them, and she doesn't blink an eye. She knows me. LOL I am all about comfort, and if I am cold in places like my lower legs, then I will do things to prevent it, such as I have been. LOL.

As I was doing my regular morning routine stuff, I realized it as Friday and I did a measurement two weeks ago, that I could document once again. The last tme I listed them was on March 18, 2011. So I will list them as well.

This is the measurements for March 18, 2011

At the navel: 31 inches
Narrowest at the waist: 29 inches
Widest at the hips: 34 inches
My neck: 13 inches

The Navy body fat formula says that I have a fat percentage of 24.42%
The YMCA formula says that I have a fat percentage of 35.04.%

And here are my measurements for April 1, 2011:

At the navel: 29 inches
Narrowest at the waist: 28.5 inches
Widest at the hips: 34 inches
My neck: 13 inches

The Navy body fat formula says that I have a fat percentage of 23.73%
The YMCA formula says that I have a fat percentage of 29.06.%

My Body Mass Index (BMI) is 22.2

As I was doing my measurements, I realize how thin my legs, my arms, and even around my hip area was getting. Yet, the little pouch of fat below my belly button was still sticking out like a sore thumb. It is really odd to see it there, as my body is thinning out every where but there. It is really looks out of place. It almost reminds me of those women are are ultra skinny yet pregnant, who seem like they literal swallowed a small ball or something. Of course, obsessing about it a bit, I pinched it and tried to calculate how much fat was there. The only thing I could do to figure that out, was mix up some bread dough or something and form a good estimate that is on my body and weight it. LOL. I hate to seem obsessed about it, but I have had it so long, and I am determined to get rid of it. Since I am getting older, if I keep it much longer, I will just end up adding to it, as I get older. I would rather get rid of this leeching fat, and live a healthier lifestyle without out. I have noticed that my waist is probably as tiny as it was when I was 18 years old, but I feel a bit more shapely then I was then. I think I was very straight and up and down boyish. As over the years, I have gained fat on my hips to give me a bit more curvaceous look, as well as I went up in size in the breast area as well. My hips aren't very wide, as I have never given birth, to have them widen out, but I wonder how bad they will widen if I ever do. I probably will end up looking more like my mother, who has very wide hips. In my mother's family, all the women are big breasted, so I know my gain in the area is due to it is hereditary. I know that my mother is a triple D and my Aunt C. is about the same. When I was in my twenties, I knew that my Aunt G, was a E. So I am lucky that I have went done from a double D to a single D. Of course, I have known for a long time, the more fat I have in my body, the bigger I get. Six years, ago before I under took a 55 day water fast, I was double D, and I weighted about 140 pounds before the fast. My back hurt all the time, and I knew it was because of the fat content in my body. I was able to lower them, without any harm to the perky-ness, which I was really worried about at first. I have always been proud of my body, and I know that eventually I will fail the pencil test (which Christy laughs at me about) but in my 37 year, I have not. WOO HOO! Oh talking about this subject. I really want to get sewing again, as I have designed a couple of my own bras and panties, as I think it would be nice to do. I used to want to be a fashion designer, that I have notebooks full of my ideas and designs. I must get into that again. I guess I started doing that since I did work in retail and I was around them a lot, so I saw catalogs, and I wanted to create my very function and cost saving designs, yet still feel lovely about it. I must pull out my fashion designs over the weekend.

I am really excited about after work, because Christy and I are going around to pick up job application for her, and shop a bit for seeds for my garden, which I really need to start my seeds. I really look forward to calling my Dad as well. So far I have plans for the weekend! Saturday I will be doing a couple things, as well as Sunday, I plan on going to church! Amazing, huh? If the weather is nice, I will go to the park, to get a bit of exercise, maybe even shoot some hoops. I still don't have the whole Saturday and Sunday filled with events or projects, but I am working on it slowly. I definitely can tell a difference in how I perceive my happiness due to how active I am and what I am doing daily.

Oh yeah, the guy texted me again. He said that he texted me and since I didn't respond, I guess that I didn't want to talk to him anymore. I made me a little bit irritated, as in the past, if I didn't text him right away, he assumed that I was out doing something I should be or that I was ignoring him purposely. Sometimes I don't have the ringer on in my phone, especially right now, because he has a habit of texting me around 2 or 3 a.m. which has has done the last couple times, and I don't to be woken up suddenly and then get all upset regarding the subject of his text that I don't sleep for the rest of the night. I feel horrible for not texting him back the first time and I felt complelled to text him back, which I did. I started feeling horrible about me ignoring him, as I have been. In the past, I have always texted him a couple times during the week. I didn't because I felt it wasn't healthy for me to do so. Anyway most of the time, he never responded anyway. It always kind of left me hanging. Now, he wants attention, and I haven't been giving it to him, and now he acts like I am being a jerk for not texting him back. GAH! So, I took a page from his own play book, which has used on me in the past when I have texted him, and didn't get answer back for days and sometimes no answer at all. I texted him back and said “I have been busy and plus I didn't know you wanted to start a conversation, as all all you made was a statement that I didn't know you were waiting for a response” I am sure that will irritate him, but it is true, as he has used those very similar words with me in the past, when I said Hello and I wondered how he was doing. He always came back saying “How to I respond to that, since you never really asked me a solid question” as if turning the lack of communication back upon me. I am sure I will hear back from him regarding that, but then again, I am surprised at this moment, I really don't care. LOL I hope I feel like that later on in the day. It might back fire, and I might feel really horrible about it later now. I hope my confidence and spirit holds up through out the day and over the weekend.

Gosh, what a lovely way to start the day. My mind heavy with the thoughts of the guy again. Gah!

Moving on. . .

I found this lovely list of 25 things that will improve your health if you try to follow them.

I found it at this website.

Here it is: http://www.lyved.com/body_soul/25-simple-tips-to-improve-your-health-and-fitn...

The quality of our lives is determined by the quality of our health. You can have all the money in the world but if you go through your day feeling tired, fatigued or weak, you can’t be living your life to the fullest. Here are 25 quick tips to increase your health and fitness:

1. Diets are evil
Because of their temporary nature, diets don’t work. The people who do lose weight end up gaining it back again once they come off the diet. Instead of dieting, try to change your lifestyle. The changes you make to the way you eat should be sustainable for the rest of your life.

2. Get rid of the junk food
The easiest way to ensure that you don’t eat the food you shouldn’t is to make sure it isn’t available. Go through your fridge and toss out all the junk food. Next time you go grocery shopping, make sure that you don’t buy more.

3. Make use of healthy snacks
Having a snack between your meals is a good idea – as long as they’re healthy. Stock up on fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds. Have them readily available for whenever you might feel hungry. This means both at home and at the office.

4. All carbs are not created equal
While carbohydrates are a necessary part of your diet, there are some that do more damage than good. Avoid white carbs wherever possible and switch to the whole-grain alternatives.

5. Kill the caffeine addiction
Whether it’s coffee or soft drinks, caffeine is a drug. It’s a legal drug but a drug nonetheless. If you feel the need for a warm drink, choose an herbal tea instead.

6. Don’t forget the fat
Although trans-fats and the like should be avoided, you need to consume sufficient essential fatty acids. Make sure you are getting your omega-3 and omega-6 fats. These can be found in flax oil, nuts, and seeds.

7. Water is your friend
Your body is made up mostly of water. The problem is most people walk around dehydrated. If you are feeling thirsty, it’s too late: you are already dehydrated.

8. Breathe deeply
Oxygen is more important than water for your health. You can survive days without water but only minutes without oxygen. Most people today have very shallow breathing and are not getting enough air. Breathe deeply from your diaphragm to ensure your cells are well oxygenated.

9. Eat your veggies
Vegetables are rich in micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) that are essential to your health. Plus they have a cleansing effect on your body because of their alkaline pH.

10. Buy organic
Much of the commercial produce available today is devoid of nutritional value due to the depleted soil used in the industrial farming process. Organic produce also has the benefit of tasting a lot better. It might be more expensive but the benefit is well worth it.

11. Get friends that live healthy
The ongoing interaction with people who have the health you desire will be a positive influence on you. It is far easier to make the transition to healthy living when you have the social support.

12. Find healthy foods you enjoy
Just because you are eating healthy does not mean you need to suffer eating foods you hate. Look for healthy foods you enjoy and eat them more often. Find recipes online that are both healthy and enjoyable.

13. Take your lunch to work
Not only will brown bagging your lunch save you some money, it will help you avoid eating unhealthy foods for lunch. Take the extra time to make your lunch in the morning or make extra for dinner and eat the leftovers.

14. Eat out intelligently
For the restaurants that you visit frequently, find out the menu choices that are healthy options. This way, you can enjoy going out without jeopardizing your health.

15. Give yourself a cheat meal
Every now and then, it’s okay to indulge in something you know that it is not good for you but you enjoy. You shouldn’t deprive yourself. Just make sure that this only happens from time to time.

16. Sleep deeply
Get a good night’s rest every evening. Sleep in a quiet room that is dark for the appropriate amount of time for you. Most people have heard that you need 8 hours of sleep for proper health. In my experience, the amount of sleep I need varies with my eating habits and exercise. When I am living in a healthy manner, I find I feel fully energized with about 6 hours of sleep. Find the amount of sleep that is right for you.

17. Schedule exercise
Make your workout an important appointment for yourself. Schedule it at a specific time and place. Make it as important to you as a business meeting or doctor’s appointment.

18. Get a workout buddy
Sometimes your motivation to exercise wanes. When you have a partner that pushes you, it is far easier to take action. Working out with a friend also tends to make it a lot more fun.

19. Exercise aerobically
Cardiovascular exercise helps to burn fat and raises your metabolism. It also strengthens your heart and lungs. Do at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise at least 3 times a week.

20. Don’t forget to stretch
Stretching is important for your flexibility and the recovery of your muscles. Don’t stretch a cold muscle – it’s a good way to injure yourself. If you stretch before your workout, only do so after warming up. It’s always a good idea to stretch after a workout where your muscles are already warm.

21. Train for strength
Building muscle not only increasing your strength but also increases your metabolism. Strength training also stimulates the release human growth hormone in your body which slows the aging process. It’s important to engage in strength training 2-4 times a week.

22. Make exercise a habit
The easiest way to follow through and make sure that you exercise is to make it automatic. Exercise at the same time every day if possible.

23. Get a trainer
Although a personal trainer is not necessary, having one while you start out exercising can be very helpful. They can show the proper form for exercises and help motivate you to really push yourself.

24. Make changes gradually
If you’ve been living an unhealthy lifestyle for a long time, the challenge of healthy living can seem daunting. Instead of trying to change everything at once and getting overwhelmed, make sustainable changes gradually.

25. Don’t give up
If you fall back into unhealthy patterns, there is no reason to beat yourself up about it. Identify why the lapse occurred and learn from your mistakes. Move forward with this knowledge and continue to move towards health.

I am really surprised that I am doing a lot of those things. I have followed 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 20 and 24. And sometimes I follow 17 and 19, which I need to work on. That is 16 items on the list out of 25. That leaves only 9 items hanging fire. I guess that isn't too bad.

I have realized lately how blessed I am to have good health. As I just found what the Mosaic forum is on the curezone, I am able to read various posts, other then trying desperately to find an interesting forum to read form, the mosaic is a easy way to see what is on hand, instead of hopping form one forum to another. Just reading various posts, I have realized what little problems with my health that I really do have. I have noticed that are people that are not only hurting with emotional issues, but with many, many physical issues, such as tapeworms and candida. I must add the people in Curezone to my prayer list, as I never realized the amount of illness and hurt that is in the world. I guess I am very naive, as I have never been around a lot of ill people, as I think unfortunately is mostly with me it is more out of sight, out of mind. My heart goes out to so many people that are struggling with health issues. I really never knew until I started reading the Mosaic forum. I guess it is true that one should really, truly look around, and then count one's blessing, and really “see” how God has blessed them. It has really opened my eyes as well as humbled me in so many ways. I really never knew. I was so blind. I guess it very much like one of my favorite songs by Brandon Heath called “Give me Your eyes”

Here are the lyrics:

Looked down from a broken sky
Traced out by the city lights
My world from a mile high
Best seat in the house tonight

Touched down on the cold black tar
Hold on for the sudden stop
Breathe in the familiar shock
Of confusion and chaos

All those people going somewhere
Why have I never cared?

Give me Your eyes for just one second
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me Your love for humanity

Give me Your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach?
Give me Your heart for the one's forgotten
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide what?s underneath

There?s a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
Too ashamed to tell his wife
He's out of work, he's buying time

All those people going somewhere
Why have I never cared?

Give me Your eyes for just one second
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me Your love for humanity

Give me Your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach?
Give me Your heart for the one's forgotten
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I've been there a million times
A couple of million eyes just moving past me by
I swear I never thought that I was wrong

Well, I want a second glance
So give me a second chance
To see the way You see the people all alone

Give me Your eyes for just one second
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me Your love for humanity

Give me Your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach?
Give me Your heart for the one's forgotten
Give me Your eyes so I can see

Give me Your eyes for just one second
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
That I keep missing

Give me Your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach?
Give me Your heart for the one's forgotten
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

~Give me Your Eyes by Brandon Heath

I have to say that I am very blessed by God and very very thankful for His Goodness and love in my life.

On other subject matters, my water fast is going well. I had a healthy BM in the afternoon. I was surprised by it, but not too surprised as my stomach/intestines were doing funny things last night while I was over at Christy's. It had the feeling that I get when I am going to have irritated bowel incident, which only happens when I am very nervous or stress out about something. I didn't feel overly stressed or upset about anything particular that I know but, but regardless, my body did it and expelled some junk. I have to say if I may that I gagged a bit, because the smell was horrible and it reminded me of the smell that a person would get if they came across a pile of dog doo. I am sure that is not healthy at all, but it was nasty. I guess I am happy that I got that out of my body. YUCKY!

Other then that incident, I am feeling really good. I have a bit of energy, but the smell coming from me is not too pleasant and the acetone is not great either, but I am coping well with it as best I can. I am also drinking water, as my body urges. I am not having any nausea or feeling overly sick, which is really nice. It is almost pleasant this time. On ward to my more healthy body!

Keep you updated as the 2nd half of my day later

EXERICISE: Unknown at this time.
