Day 2 of Water Fast- Going strong so far!

I was really tired this morning (January 5, 2011), as Phil woke me up several times per text messaging. I seemed to get more sleep when he was living with me, then I do now at the moment. My mother says that it is because he is on his own again, and wants to his own needs met by something. She is probably right. If he texted anyone else, the probably would tell him to “*uck off” like one of them did just before Christmas. Yes, I heard about that one by one early morning text when he got it. I guess I don't mind too much about his texting, as I don't sleep well, myself anymore, since he moved out. I think I slept better when he was living with me. Never once did he ever wake me up to spend time with me, but then again, he was out almost every night playing pool until 2 a.m. Now, for some reason, I am his phone buddy, since he has no one. Probably because no one else would put up with it. I only put up with it, because I love him (or should I say I loved him? I don't know. Does that make me a weak person or just a heal?) So sometimes, I am already awake when he texts. I just never would text someone that late myself, as I know that people are sleeping. Unfortunately, he never things about that when he does it to me. Hey, maybe that will work in my favor when it comes to not eating solid foods and going into my 2nd day of my water fast. Might fall asleep early and sleep the whole night through until morning. Yay! That would be great, wouldn't it?

I know that I shouldn't be thinking about food or even looking at food. But since I had been craving cucumbers, I saw an article where people were putting cucumbers in water. I guess it is a thing that people can do to make a refreshing drink in the summer time. I even saw that a person said that some cafe puts cucumbers and turnips in their water and it was delicious. So I will try to remember that so I can try it out in the summer time. I have heard people putting slices of orange and lemon in water, but never turnips! LOL

My water fast is going well so far, and I am drinking lots of yummy water. I think I am really enjoying it as my skin (especially on my face, under my eyes) is dry from the winter air. I gently rubbed some coconut oil into this morning, to help rehydrate the skin. I really love my water bottle that the one Attorney got me for Christmas. I told him again today how I love it. I love that it is clear and labeled at 32 ounces so I can filled it up and drink and and fill it up again. It is much easier to keep track of how much water I have been drinking then before. It is the only water bottle I have been using for water. It is really great! I can easily drink 64 ounces of water, now, because I just have to keep track how many times I filled it.

My tongue is only slightly coated, which I take as a good sign as well as I am not suffering from any headaches or other physical maladies that might signal that I am very toxic. But then again, it might be too early to tell. I just read that if you are suffering from things even in the first couple days of your water fast, then you are very toxic. I have been eating really well, except of for some wine on New Year's Eve and a couple things before Christmas and on Christmas day. Other then that, I have really been sticking to fresh fruit and veggies in my life. I am very happy with what I have been doing. I have fluxuated between two or three pounds ( 134 to136 pounds) since I came off my fast on November 24, 2010. I figure that to be a very good thing as I have not gain any excessive weight, which means that I am allowing my metabolism to slow build up and not allow the food that I am re-feeding myself with to over whelm me.

I have been thinking what I would like to achieve during this 14 day fast (if I can last that long! I shouldn't say that as that is being negative. I will last that long! Even if I have to convert to a juice fast for a short while to deal with detox symptoms) I would love to become closer to God during this time. Get a clearer mind about how to deal with Phil -either to let him go completely (and have the strengthen to do so) or to figure out how to work things out with him (if that is what he truly wants). I would like to develop some healthy habits like exercising more (at least 3 times a week), reading my Bible (without feeling pressured to do so by my demanding side of my personality. It is because I know that it is good for me, but I am still fighting it) I would love to deal with deeper issues, like why I get defensive (like Phil says I do) and why I struggle with opening up with people. On a side note, my mother says I don't have a problem communication with others, it is just certain people that have hurt me, so I tend to be more closed off to them, then others that I feel open with. I would love to lose a bit more weight/fat from my body. Honestly I would love to lose another 22 pounds, which would make me back to my actually weight I was a year and a half ago (115 pounds ) which was very healthy for me. But, calculating my 14 day fast time, I should lose about 9 pounds from Day 4 to Day 12 (which will be January 15, 2011). I know that about 8 of those pounds could be regained from re-feeding, so I would love to extend my water fast to more then just 14 days if I am strong enough to endure the detoxification. I would love to go 20 days on a water fast, but I am just going to take one day at a time, since detoxification causes most of my failures when it comes to ending a fast. It is always good to just take one day at a time. No need to hurry. I will lose it slowly. Some of it by fasting and some of it by eating a healthy diet. I lost like two pounds during the re-feeding time, so I know it can be done.

I left work late, so that I could add some time to evening so I could avoid temptation. I went to Lowes after 6:00 p.m. to see how much it would cost to buy plastic for my windows, that that it will be a bit warmer in my home during this cold winter. I went down each aisle to look at the lovely things. I haven't window shopped like this for a while. I am excited about buying a little of this and a little of that to make my home more efficient as well as nice to live in. I love fixing up my place.

I didn't realize I spend 2 hours in the store, until I left. So taking 15 minutes to get home, it was about time to get ready for bed when I got there. I immediately camped out in my bedroom, dragging my long, thick crocheted Canna blanket with me, so I could work on it while I laid it bed. I end up listening/watching VeggieTales movie called Abraham's promise while finishing off one skein of yarn (The sandy print one) out of three. It is a three strand afghan. It is a lovely combination of Carrot orange, Gold and a variegated selection of tans and white called Sandy Print. These are the colors of my Marmalade colored Tabby cat, Canna that I had to put to sleep a year ago on December 26, 2009. It was a memorial afghan, since I had him since he was 6 weeks old until he was 14 years.

So, I worked on that until the Sandy Print skein was out, reconnected the new one, and put it away for the night, as I was getting really tired. It was probably about 8:45 p.m. when I relaxed and listened the the movie.

I don't know what time I fell asleep, but all I do know is that I succeed in overcoming any temptation to ruin my water fast. I know that tomorrow will be the hardest for me, so I probably do the same thing I did today to help me stay a way temptation. I am still remaining positive.

EXERICISE: Walked 2.87 miles,

WATER INTAKE: 64 ounces of water with a little bit of lemon added to it.
