28 Day Medical Fast, Day 10
28 Day Medical Fast, Day 10
Date: 2/13/2009 12:37:14 PM ( 15 y ) ... viewed 1736 times I was concerned I wasn't getting enough fat or protein with my fast. I spent some time reading about it, thinking I might be doing the fast wrong. I haven't had any cravings for meat or legumes, I just didn't want to sacrifice all of my muscle mass in the process of the fast.
I'm not sure how the chemical process works, but If I understand correctly, the fast itself converts the diseased or inferior tissues and dirty fats into all the protein the body needs during the fast.
I know my lymph nodes are now barely visible, they used to appear to be a raised ridge 4 inches long on either side of my neck, you could see them from across the room. Now their physical size is about the equivalent of my pinkie finger. I'm very encouraged by this.
I still have a lot of body fat, but the density is changing. Instead of being a semi-solid beer-gut, it's now very pliable and starting to shrink.
My dad weighs 135 pounds at 61. I weighed 175 in high school, and remember being embarrased of my midsection in swim trunks. I reached my all time high of 217 last year.
I initally stated that weight loss wasn't my objective, but in light of losing some stubborn fat as a byproduct of a lifestyle change, it's something I'll be happy to accept.
My only symptoms today are dry metallic mouth, and very mild headache. I slept well, and slept in. I'm getting to where I have to remind myself to drink juice, or I'll just skip the planned meal time and drink water. I don't want to do that and have a healing crisis sneak up on me.
