Also she seems not to have gotten into the pre-week as committedly as we both might have hoped, but I think my example, and deciding to hold on to my plan of starting right after the party season, will inspire her. I will no longer be living with her when she starts, though, so I'll just have to make the effort of visiting her often enough for support and company. I'll probably leave the juicer with her as well to make it a bit easier for the first-timer - she'll be able to get into independent juicing, plus it's not such a problem for me to juice my stuff at her place for a week.
Had some of that veggie rice and baked potato yesterday, then walked my friend's dog, and then chopped all of the ingredients I intended to make small batches of juice of. It was such a lovely colorful arrangement, and we had a good time making the juices, tasting them, and mixing them for possible combinations. I was proud to witness my friend experiment with wheatgrass in fruit juice, and actually liking it!
Afterwards we were both so full of juice, and it was quite late, but it was a good introduction, I reckon - my friend was determined she needs a juicer of her own, too. Like expected she fell for the carrot juice! Other stuff we juiced was cucumber, zucchini, cabbage, broccoli, tomato, apple, kiwi fruit, swede, beet, and orange. I got to take two bottles of leftover mixed juices to work today, so I'm very pleased about my pre-week progress. I intend to buy a whole heap of stuff to juice when I get home today and consume mostly juices for the rest of the week. Anything else I'll have is the little remainer of veggie rice and potato I have left, some simple salad I'll make on Saturday, and some carrot-swede-tomato soup I'll make as well. That should do it, I think I'm doing pretty well with the liquids.
I was surprised to be so surprised to notice how filling home-made juices actually are! This surely makes me feel very confident about keeping on with the fast for over a week!
The flu seems a bit worse - my throat isn't sore any more, but I've got a bit of a nasty cough instead. I'll keep having my chai tea with ginger and lemon. Will have to drop the honey off it, if the flu lasts till the weekend.
I won a ticket to a heavy rock concert tonight, I hope there's no free booze available. Not that I would drink it, but not only is it a bit lonely to go there all by myself, needing to refuse the hosting Magazine's birthday party drinks would seem like I'm not there to have much fun at all. The leading band is notorious for playing dressed only in a sock (and it's not worn on a foot), and not even that for some part of the gig. I'm really excited. Scared, and excited. I really should stop taking part in competitions I don't really want to win. The Law of Attraction likes to play hilarious little tricks on me! (Except a year ago, I really would've liked that Getz car.)
Same soup for lunch today, and I hid the lollies in my wardrobe to be forgotten there forever.
Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box doesn't sound good whistled, either.
