Barley and Wheat Harvest 15 y
Harvested my first Barley on Saturday.
This was Shavuot, the holiday of the first fruits.
I am clarifying for next year: I need to plant the
Barley, as yearly as September...during the High Holidays...
So I have it by Passover.
I need to plant the wheat around Chanukah
in December, so I have it in May. This is the
cycle I want to get into.

The secular kibbutzim have it right. Since the earliest days, these kibbutzim have arranged to celebrate Shavuot with special ceremonies based on Torah laws. With song and dance they mark the end of the barley and the beginning of the wheat harvest (massechet ha’omer), and their children grow and present the first-fruits (hagigat habikurim) to the elders of the kibbutz and to their synagogue, if they ha ... read more

Transitions....very difficult times for me,

I am reflecting at a deep level
at the difficult time I had emotionally
at the major transition points in my life.
Grammar School to Junior High was
traumatic.
My mother was in the hospital for cancer
soon after we left the childhood neighborhood
in East Los Angeles. There was a six month period
when she was in the hospital. I did not see her
much. She was across town. Then she died.
Many of my childhood friends moved across town
as well. I sense we were late comers.
One of the most severe traumas was losing
one of my best friends fr ... read more

the fire of the radish is a cold fire, the fire of discontent not of passion. Tomatoes are lusty enough, yet there runs through tomatoes an undercurrent of frivolity. Beets are deadly serious.”
Obviously, most people, even most vegetarians, cannot feel or express such emotions as these about vegetables. Indeed, I am quite sure that Tom Robins himself does not, each time he prepares or consumes a salad, think this imaginatively about the ingredients of it. Were he to do so, he would eventually ... read more

Looking at the Dark Side of my Harvest
during these days of the Harvest Holiday
called Shavuot. An explanation of the
Kabbalistic Flow right now. A resolve

7:02 AM
May 29, 09
Today is the First Day of Shavuot.
Shavuot, in the perspective of the
Kabbalistic Meditations I have been doing
for 49 Days, is the Harvest Time.
Shavuot lasts two days.
I need to check that.
I use a book called
A JOURNEY OF AWAKENING
that has daily meditations
for each day that acts as a
healer for the widespread
state of fragmentation
that pervades our world right now.
In the Kabbalistic Map of Consciousness,
there are Four Worlds.
The Innermost World is where Creation comes from.
The Outer World is this 3D World,
Ground Zero.
