Erica Climbs to the Top of the Ladder!!!
ERICA JOHNSON, outgoing Commissioner
of GREEN LOVE at SDSU and a newly graduating student,
climbed to the top of the ladder
Sunday May 31, here at
the ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY.
She went up the ladder and successfully picked blackberries!
That's what I call a quick rise to success!
People who garden will rise in the field
of Green Jobs too, sez KEEP The BEET Media Star,
The World's First Talking Beet Plant.
Fun was had by all!

ERICA JOHNSON, SDSU Outgoing GREEN LOVE COMMISSIONER
and a new graduating student, climbed to the top of the ladder
here at the ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY,
May 31. She made her climb to pick ripe blackberries, grown
on this 1/3 acre. LESLIE GOLDMAN, AKA YOUR ENCHANTED
GARDENER, is setting in motion a community intent her
to provide a place where SDSU e3's and other Green loving
students can make nature contact, and discover how to use
local, fresh, whole, pure, natural foods to further COME ALIVE!
The highly successful second meeting of BEET KEEPERS, Return '09
was attended by a number of e3 leaders that included ERICA,
a past e3 Co-President; ERIN LANNON, the incoming e3 president;
and GRANT AUSTIN MACK, the incoming GREEN LOVE COMMISSIONER.
The Associated Students of SDSU are involved in numbers of
long range projects that include an on-campus bike path,
an on-going on campus-Farmers' Market, and support for
a Botanical garden and organic garden.
Also at the BEET KEEPERS, Return '09 gathering May 31
were MATT SABLOV and CHRIS MANSI, who met at the
San Luis Obispo STUDENT SUSTAINABILITY COALITION
CONFERENCE earlier this year.
Between 6-7 PM on Sunday, The SDSU leaders and alums
participated in a statewide Conference call.
Others playing a major role in the success of the Sunday
Gathering were ANGELENE FRATALONE, resident
at the community. ANGELENE was the lead food Chef
for a delightful meal enjoyed by all. LAURA CASTILLO
and NIKI PORIER helped prep the veggies.
LAURA and NIKI were ANGELENE's
guests. The three women work at RUDY's DINER in
MISSION VALLEY. TOM, NIKI's husband, helped
with the garden activity, moving a fallen yucca
to an area in the back where ANNA VARNELL,
another resident, will grow mushrooms.
CLANDO BROWNLEE, a GREEN JOB;s Advocate
brought his two kids. Other young people were
also in attendance, children of NIKI and TOM.
HANNA VAN TATENHOVE, who works at
OB PEOPLE's FOOD STORE, and loves to garden,
also attended, as did ELLEN ARCADI, a member
of the San Diego Intentional Communities Meet Up Group.
It was good to finally meet Ellen face to face!!!!
MATT is a regular at COME ALIVE! and HANNA
has attended the class.
Wednesday gatherings of COME ALIVE! continue
each week. The next BEET KEEPERS, Return '09!

GREENOPS, a new Recycling Redemption project

to be companies using plastic blottles for years.
This is a great project to make sure that those
producing drinks and other products in plastic
begin responsible for a program that sees
the bottles they sell are returned to the store
