”Voyager: Recipient Unknown” Co-Creation: LFIRE and Eco Art by mayah(2019) 8” x10” mixed media art This is a co-creation with my artist friend LFIRE. (see her blog: https://www.curezone.org/blogs/fm.asp?i=2426398 ) Then she sent me this smaller piece so I could see what it looked like. She told me it was difficult to work with as it is so stretchy. The background is painted first, then the stretchy packaging material is added on with glue. More Eco Art utilizing dried flowers

When I was a kid, I loved cutting out paper dolls and their clothes. I was never interested in playing with them, I just liked to be creative and soon drew and cut out my own paper clothes for them. This kind of activity later included designing and sewing my own clothes for Barbie dolls. I made clothes for them until I was 14, long past the time most kids put the dolls away. This paper doll started out as a photo in the Sunday April 28 2019 Los Angeles Times from the fashion section.** I thought the model’s head mask so interesting that I cut out the photo. Spring Flowers from around my neighborhood

Eco Art by mayah(c)2019 ”Spring Flowers” 9” x 13” This was a rather challenging art piece to make. My friend LFIRE* gifted me with the twelve small 3” x 2.5” rectangles made of natural coconut husk.** I laid them out on my art table in the grid you see here, and immediately wanted to piece them together. After two failed attempts at using embroidery floss to tie the pieces together (the floss was not sturdy enough to keep the cross threads from collapsing), the decision was made to use jute twine instead. Each piece of coconut husk was brittle, so I started out by gluing Rhimax ( ...   read more
