Eco Art Cardboard Box Tires by mayah(c)2019
Recycled materials: cardboard cracker box 8.5" x 6.5" x 2.5" turned inside out and coated with matte acrylic, magazine image, paint palette (unbleached wax paper/acrylic paint), cardboard; hand embroidery; jute hanger (not shown).
Side view shows the "tires" hanging freely from the top of the frame. On the side, the original art piece is credited: "Cady Noland, 'Publyck Sculpture', 1994, aluminum over wood, steel plates, metal chains, and whitewall tires, 118 by 189 by 30 inches. Courtesy Museum fur Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt. Photo: Fabian Frinzel". The photo was shown on the cover of "Art in America" magazine, April 2019 issue.* I made the little circles on the side of the box out of cardboard and paint, to carry on the "tire" theme.
