here goes, did a 'doodle' and the results seen were not expected. But, I'm sure it's a good deal... something very black and ripple-ly like was half submerged in toliet water, bout the size (length-depth-width) of the standard candy bar of 'Laffy Taffy'. So, is this mucoid stuff? Guess What? I'm only using the IF 1 and lots of water. Did feel lots of upper abd. cramping before that happened...

Well, I've done 2 months of IF 1 and 2, that was about 2 months ago. Feeling crampy off and on the whole time. I understand that is a normal and healthly reaction. Also during that time, I did 6 weeks of cayenne and garlic *raw garlic*. WOW! what a stinking mess. But it works. I saw some smaller bits of black, at that time, and yes, it was stink city. Some nausea was a problem during that time. That was probably die-off. CE's have also played a part of my weekly routine during these past few months. I use them anywhere between 4-8 times, each week. It's great to know they assist my liver in the tough job of metabolizing. And I can tell now, when I need to do one. (I guess it's that Doc within thing).
I do not have a juicer yet, but I do fast from meats each Wed and Fri. And having just come out of Lent, well that was a 40 day fast from meat. It all helps in some tiny way. Just imagine, if I could have/would have, been juice fasting during that time and now, how much more good results, I know I would be seeing.
I understand how hard it is for my body to digest meat for that reason, I just don't enjoy eating allot of that stuff anymore. I can see, how all of the past years of abuse has affected me. Water, RO or distilled is the only type that I drink. And allot of it. I need to be drinking lots, during all of this parasite killin. Oh, yeah, and tomorrow I will be finishing a 30 day stint of humaworm, great stuff. I know I will use it again, and suggest its use to my family.

Also strange twitching. and now for the worst, strangest one. When I was in bed I closed my eyes and saw all these rushing bug like shapes in a huge mass and then this crawling, fluttering feeling. I opened my eyes sqeaked really loud.(not even stopping the snoring next to me) and then I just jumped out of bed and ran down the hall into the family room and picked up my laptop and now you are reading my rantings!! My daughter has had a really bad ear ache this weekend. Poor thing, its been so hard to see her suffer in pain. She past the worst but I'm doing my best to keep it away. Anyways, along with all the typical ear ache problems she says her feet really hurt. Enough pain to wake her at night. Tonight her headache and jaw pain flared up along with her feet hurting. I did do some foot reflexology on her but she's terrible on getting feedback. Any thoughts??-

i am sure when you did foot reflexology you checked that the pain in her feet was not corresponding points to a mid ear infection? some time even though the ear infection may have outwardly gone remnants are still there in the middle ear which would also explain why she was having a jaw ache as well as a headache. do get it checked by a doctor and at the same time continue to work on her ear, throat and sinus points.

The pain in her feet was before I did the reflexology and after. And hurt no matter what I did. The pain is in her ear and jaw bc the ear ache is not all gone. It will take awhile to fully rid her of this problem. And thank you for your concern but I would never take my daughter to the doctor unless it was for extreme E.R. purposes...I just love her too much :)-

Hello Everyone,
I have a practical question regarding juicing. I have an Omega 8005 juicer (and will be canning for 2 days at a time) and my question is for the experienced juicers and juice fasters - how do you go about getting a gallon of juice per day? Specifically, I want to know how to shop to do this? How many ounces of juice come from carrots? Is it possible to use too much of one type of vegetable such as carrots? Does Superfood count as juice? What are your typical recipes for getting this high volume of juice?

I've never been able to find a "this much produce yields this much juice" list...but there are random reports around (and some on this forum).
Here's some I've found (and am finding as I type - most are from "The juicing Book" I just found on Google :) --
1 pound of cucumbers = 8oz juice
2 1/2 pounds of carrots = 2 3/4 cups juice
2 tangelos = 1 cup juice
5 pounds of carrots = 16-32oz juice
1 pound of apples - 6-8oz juice
1 pound of fenugreek sprouts = 4oz juice
1 "bunch" of turnip/beet greens = 4-6oz juice
1 pound of turnips = 4-6oz juice
1 pound of lambs quarters = 4-6oz juice
1 pound of wheatgrass = 6-8oz juice (fluctuates widely, depending on juicer)
1 pound of radishes or radish sprouts = 2-4oz juice
1 pound fennel = 6-8oz juice
1 pound of lemons = 4-6 ounces (??? you'll always yield MUCH more juice with citrus if it's room temp or warmer, and if you 'roll' it before juicing)
1 pound of tomatoes = 8-10oz juice
1 pound of scallions = 2-3oz juice
1 pound of string beans = 4-6oz juice
1 pound of summer squash = 4-6oz juice
1 pound of buckwheat greens = 6oz juice
1 pound of bean sprouts (unknown type) = 3-4oz juice
1 pound of grapefruit = 6-8 oz juice
1 pound of endive = 4-6oz juice
1 pound of oranges = 6-8oz juice
1 pound of peaches = 1-3oz juice (I yield more)
1 pound of pears = 4-6oz juice
1 pound of papaya = 1-3oz juice (I'm pretty sure I yield
more)
1 pound of artichokes = 6-8oz juice
1 pound of grapes = 8oz juice
1 pound of Watermelon = 6-8oz
1 pound of limes = 4-6oz
1 pound of pitted cherries = 6-8oz
1 pound of pineapple = 4-6oz juice (my Omega hates juicing pineapple - semi-freezing it helps; remember to juice the skins too..the highest amount of bromelain is between the 'fruit' and the skin -- and you really don't taste the difference. More juice AND more healing benefits!)
1 pound of cranberries = 4-6oz juice
1 pound of cabbage/cabbage sprouts = 6oz juice
1 pound of parsnips = 4-6oz juice
1 pound of beets = 6-8oz juice
1 pound of strawberries = 4-5oz juice
1 pound of sunflower greens - 4-6oz juice
1 pound of sweet peppers - 4-6oz juice
Remember - the riper the produce, the 'juicier' it is...and with all "greens", many times soaking them in water (when they're limp and/or dry) can "plump them up" to yield more juice
This from a previous post by healinginHiswings - it's as good as guideline as any I've seen:

I'm not saying that will yield a gallon, but it's definitely a good "mix"!
The goal is one gallon of juice daily - consider that your "food" for the day - Superfood, Potassium/mineral broth, herbal teas, etc., are all 'extras' (although if you want to count the juice you add to the Superfood, it's not going to make that much of a difference).
Honestly, 1 gallon IS a "high bar" - that's 8 pint jars, and I typically 'max out' at 7 pints (sometimes 6). Since I drink WELL over a gallon of water daily (on top of whatever teas or broths I'm doing when juice-fasting), it just seems there's no more room. But if I were battling a serious illness, I'd MAKE room for the juice. Don't beat yourself up if you don't 'meet the bar' everyday, just continue to striving and doing your best.

Can you get "too much" of any one type of juice? That's actually very subjective, methinks. Gerson's typical juice is a couple of carrots, an apple and lots of 'dark green leafies/other'. But Christopher's IP was one week on nothing but carrots, the next week only apples and another week on only grapes. Schulze was basically 'all over the place' depending upon what he thought folks needed (lots of carrot, beet, parsley is typically mentioned).
Mix it up, have FUN, try anything that sounds good (and even those that don't) - it's truly a feast, not a fast!

You pour your freshly made juice into individual half pint mason jars- the kind that have those metal rings and good seals- you know, jelly jars. You can pick them up at WalMart and other places. You fill your jars up all the way to the top, to the point that a little juice spills over the top (so of course you are doing this over the sink). It works best for me if I have an able bodied Oompa Loompa to hold the jar while I pour, but y'all might be able to manage holding the pitcher in one hand and the jar in your other hand. Or set the jars down in the sink and pour into all of them.
As soon as the juice is poured (and spilled), you place the lid and the ring on the jar, screw it on, rinse/wipe the jar, and put it in the refrigerator. It is VERY important that you don't have ANY air in the jar when you put on the lid. That's why we let it spill over a little. Why is this so important? Because when the juice is exposed to the air, it is oxidizing (rotting). It is losing the enzymes that make live/raw food "alive." It's the enzymes in the raw food/juice that our body craves and desperately needs in order to regenerate and heal.

Possible bowel obstruction - help needed
Hello to all,
I have a friend with major health issues that is having a big problem at the moment. He suffers from the typical candida overgrowth and worms, shows signs of extreme liver and kidney toxicity, and I advised him to start some of the things that saved my life back then.
He takes among other things 1Tbsp psyllium husks along with 1 Tbsp activated charcoal, taken twice daily, and then 1 Tbsp activated charcoal alone (3 tbsps charcoal a day). He can't make it without the charcoal (actually he improved very much since starting it), otherwise he starts going downhill terribly, but he is severly constipated (he was before starting this regimen). Started the charcoal 2 weeks ago, and relied on daily enemas for elimination. Normal amount of feces would come out each time, so there was no concern to have. He even started taking a strong senna tea once a day to speed up the process.
Now, here is the problem: since four days, he has no bowel movements at all, and absolutly NOTHING comes out with the enemas, apart from black water and some parasites here and there. He upped the senna a bit, diminished the psyllium, but still nothing happens. He is worried that he may have an obstructed bowel, but getting checked at the hospital is a no-no for him.
What would you recommend for a possible case of emergency? I told him to go heavy on the senna, but if nothing happens in the following days?
I know Schulze had cases with severe bowel impaction, and would literally load the patient with his intestinal formula 1. Is it a wise thing to do? (read an article about a horse dying that he had on huge doses of cayenne, senna and the like, and saved his life) What is a heavy dose of senna? He is taking around 1.3 grams a day at the moment.

Senna tea did almost nothing except disturbing my electrolyte balance the same as charcoal. I now avoid them and rely on plain water enema.
The same with raw veggies or juices.
I guess he could try avoiding them for the moment and see.
CZ is a great place to learn and get advice BUT we have to face the truth about everybody is different even we had great success with one single way.
I received the same advice with psyllium raw veggie juice etc....many times...worst for me. Or "hit them harder is the only way". not always true.
For me digestive enzymes really help cooked veggies vitC plain water enema. I would check the diet and see if everything is ok with him/her. Did not try yet but heard of large dose vitC powder but not sure with obstructed colon.

I know psyllium and charcoal can actually make things worse for somebody already constipated, and in a normal case I would of course advise him to stop, but he goes downhill terribly fast if he goes without the charcoal. The weird thing is that he actually started to get much more fecal matter since starting psyllium and charcoal, until four days ago.
I too prefer to rely on enemas for constipation, but in that case absolutly nothing comes out with the enemas since four days.
Of course, his diet is far from ideal, eating plenty of animal proteins, but he is eating plenty of whole grains and vegetables. No constipation-linked foods apart from meat/fish. But he is consuming a huge load of fiber, which could make actually things worse in my opinion (despite at least one gallon of liquids a day).
He is also taking ground flaxseeds and plenty of homemade kefir in order to restore his gut flora. Also bile flow doesn't seem to be the problem here.
1.3 grams of senna is probably not that much, when you know that one capsule of IF1 has 575mg herbs, so I'll tell him to up the dosage significantly and see what happens, hoping for the best.-

Just a though - I also had/have parasites candida.....but could not tolerate many food cause of bacterial overgrowth SIBO and Protozoa. In which case several food actually made the situation worst . Maybe he could try the SIBO diet and see if any improvements.
Btw flaxseed also NOK for me. He should test and try...still no stool after 4 enemas hm...tricky-

"Almond headaches" ...anybody else??
Recently, I have noticed a strange phenonemon (sp). I noticed that MOST (not all) of the time whenever I eat almonds that I immediately get a bad headache.
The headache, for me, is in the back of my head, about three inches behind the ear.
I thought maybe it would make a difference if I bought better quality almonds, so I ordered raw, non-gassed, non-pasteurized almonds but sure enough, it happened again!
I will do anything I can NOT to take any kind of OTC pain reliever but it hurt so very badly, that I gave in and took some BC powders, and EVEN THAT barely did the trick - I had to actually go to bed.
Has anybody else discovered this; and/or know WHY??-
Sounds like an allergy to me...stop eating them?

Well, I mean I would guess so, huh? But yet it doesn't seem to happen every single time, but when it DOES, it's immediate. I mean the same way people get a 'brain freeze' when they eat ice cream or something.
I just had a small handful and hadn't even finished chewing the last one and - man!oh man! - the headache was right there!
I use Almond Breeze almond milk occasionally in my smoothies; and in my hot oat bran cereal and don't get a headache..just when I'm eating them raw.
I even tried soaking them first..
Well, I'm going to have to guess that you're right.-

I'm assuming his diet consists of other foods that would trigger a reaction if this were the case. Unless he's eating oatmeal and juicing and the only hard food he eats is almonds. Even then I would think you would notice if it were chewing related.
Possibly an allergen on the almond, not the almond itself. Not all almonds are distributed through the same company.
Nuts can have all sorts of stuff on them organic or not. Sprout your own almonds and try that. Then report back.-

While the process destroys the nutrients most people want from their almonds, it might also destroy what you are allergic to. That's possibly why almond milk doesn't bother you.

I also used to get migraine after eating almonds or cashew nuts and believe me the only solution is to give up nuts for life ! Other foods that are extremely detrimental to migraine sufferers are ....

Other foods that are extremely detrimental to migraine sufferers are whole cereals and legumes (= soy products, dry beans and lentils) because of their fiber content. These foods not only cause migraine but also depression.
