March 9 Checking In
from the HMO to downtown, with a nice visit to the herbal apothecary afterward
Date: 3/9/2006 4:56:28 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 1833 times A new realization concerning walking: I'm going to switch to walking for a specific amount of time each day rather than taking the pedometer with me everywhere. This pedometer thing is just not working for me. When I got up over 3 miles or more I then thought that walking any less than that would not be enough, which served to *briefly* shut down my walking. I do not want to get into any measurement system that shuts down my enthusiasm about walking.
I went to a class last week at my Acupuncturist's office by a nutrition advisor. She spoke of daily exercise in terms of the amount of time spent exercising rather than a distance/frequency measure. I like that. The mileage measuring was sabotaging my original intention of walking daily. Of course this was my decision, my choice. And now I am making a different choice.
And I did walk today for 1/2 hour. Downtown. After my walk, I stopped in at a local herbal apothecary. It was my first time there and I found it quite delightful.
I was supposed to have another surgical procedure done to me at the HMO, but I instead went there and asked if I could postpone it. Which interconnects with the walk downtown, where I went specifically to visit the herbal apothecary to do some research on natural alternatives to surgery. It turns out many many women have successfully treated this specific diagnosis I was given with herbs.
I've got the directions now and know what herbs I will be needing.
I am grateful.
I am also grateful that I discovered Ellagic Acid (from raspberries) here on CureZone.
Tomorrow I plan to walk to a morning appointment. Looking forward to that.
