Sunday February 26
round and round and round a neo-Victorian community
Date: 2/26/2006 8:01:42 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 2931 times I walked this morning. Getting back into walking has been a challenge, given this series of events that has come into my life lately with medical issues and dealing with all of this within the allopathic managed care realm. I still do all my natural stuff, too, and that's helping. It's the alternative health approaches that really give me hope, honestly.
I'm starting to feel more like myself lately, and that's a welcome change.
My walk this morning involved looking at houses for sale. There's a pleasant little town several miles east of where I live, and there are some nice neo-Victorian houses for sale there that I can (kind of) afford.
Looked at some on Friday and more this morning. Brought along my trusty pedometer to see just how far I would walk during these 6 or 7 house tours.
Wow! These houses were great!
One or two of them I could afford to buy without selling my house first, giving me time to move in an organized and unhurried fashion, and then spruce up the old house and get it ready to sell. Of course there's always the option of renting it out, but I've been a landlord before and I found it most unpleasant. Many people have a good experience being landlords, yet I never have. It's not a mistake I want to make again.
Be that as it may, I did walk today. Walked up and down lots of stairways, and round and round perimeters of houses checking out the vast wraparound decks and carriage houses and splendid prairie-mountain views.
It's a family area mostly and I'm an empty nester now. Where I currently live there are other empty nesters as well as singles, childless couples, etc. This gathering of neo-craftsman and neo-victorians is primarily families with young children.
Oh well, if I move there I'll add some diversity to the neighborhood, won't I?
Diversity is good for communities, for the most part.
Anyway,I walked 1.4 miles which is a lot of house touring.
Getting back into the swing of things after a time of not going for any walks.
I've got another surgery scheduled for March 9. Hopefully that will clear things up.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
