I agree with you!

I should be the post child of why someone should not fast for weight lost. After my longest fast (five years ago) I rapidly gained weight. About five pounds every few days (could you imagine?!). Obviously I was not eating right after my fast. I binged in the worse way and on top of that I kept claiming I would fast. The weight gain did not stop till I stop fasting and began evaluating why I was treating myself like crap.

Now I am clinically obese. I doubled half my previous size. I quit fasting for about two years and now have decided I want to fast again. But not to lose weight. I know the weight will eventually gain back unless I am careful with my eating habits. The only reason I want to fast lately is because I feel sluggish and 'out of it.' So I want to see about doing some house cleaning.

I hope others read this and think twice before they decide to fast just to lose some weight.
