Horrible die-off rash--help!!!
Last week, I called a naturopath in San Francisco who came highly recommended to discuss symptoms I have been suffering with on and off for years, including food and environmental allergies, chronic post-nasal drip, insect bites that won't heal for months, various gastrointestinal issues, depression, irritability, poor memory, fatigue, athletes foot, and cravings for sugar, starch and alcohol, the most pressing concerns for me being the skin problems and allergies. He diagnosed candidiasis. Being a journalist, I started researching like crazy and immediately went on a strict diet of low-carb veggies, fish and chicken (I'm allergic to mammal meat), yogurt, and eggs. I also allow myself a 1/2 cup of berries with the yogurt and a coffee with milk in the morning. That was Thursday. On Friday, I took 150 mg of Diflucan for my athlete's foot and a rash on my buttocks.
Today is Tuesday, five days into my "candida" diet and four days after I took the Diflucan. Over this period, my athlete's foot has gotten much much worse, the rash on my buttocks has spread all over and given me a genital yeast infection, and I've broken out with skin eruptions all over my body (one eye now is basically shut). My skin is itchy and prickly and I'm exhausted and unable to concentrate (not sure whether those last two symptoms are due to insomnia from itching or due to reaction to diet and anti-fungal). Plus I have a drippy nose where the drips actually sting a little--weird. I have attributed all this to die off but my concern is, it seems to be getting worse, not better. I've read that Epson salt baths can help draw out toxins, so I am trying that, along with taking 600 mg NAC, 1 mg copper, 15 mg zinc, and 50 mcg molybdenum to help get rid of the toxins. Also, lots of water and metamucil, although constipation is not a problem.
Has anyone else experienced this? What happened? What did you do? What would you recommend I do based on your experience? I'd appreciate any help/thoughts on my problem!!!
