Re: What used products do you buy?

For many many years we had an Antique and
Collectible store which was very popular
too. We sold tons of vintage clothing. We
bought estates, went to auctions, sales,
and happened to do what we called "running
our traps", and hit the thrift stores.

Back "when" you could find real treasure
and the same people who would not go into
a thrift store and pay 5 bucks for something
would give us 300 for it. Go figure. Different
strokes.

My daughter wears a small size and goes
regularly to a thrift store out in the
country which is run by a mission. They
get designer clothes and dishes and all
sorts of gorgeous shoes, coats, linens,
and everything is a quarter each, and bag
day, its a dollar a bag. Well, her friends
have begun to see thrift stores differently
since she has shown them they can find some
really nice stuff. Of course she was drug
around from store to store, to farmer's
markets and auctions since she was a baby
so her own foraging is not a big leap.
This way, she can also afford to splurge
when she sees something she wants and she
also dressed herself through college and
was able to pay off her student loans and
is still debt free with the savings she
had from going "thrifting".

Never buy underwear...ggg. Unless it is new
and in the package since in the town where
my daughter lives, many corporations and
stores donate lots of goods. The local
dry cleaners donate all their abandoned
dry cleaning. At the thrift stores run by
the missions, people on assistance can get
vouchers for free clothing and dishes etc.
These places really do help relieve suffering,
and so even now, I seek out and will donate
stuff to the places that give to those in
need.

blessings,
Zoe
