Raw Eggs & Roundworms

Hi Monique!

Another great post for consideration. I do have one comment on this:

"I eat raw organic egg yolks :)"

I found this on raw eggs. For your convenience, here's the original post that I made on "Raw Egg Care". Unfortunately, raw eggs can contain roundworms.

I had read sometime ago that eggs carried parasites. I was skeptical because I thought eggs were protected by the hard shells....well, I was wrong. I've always been careful in handling eggs, but worms is another reason to be cautious -- these things are everywhere!!! Here's what I found while researching something else.

In heavy infections, large roundworms may move up the oviduct and be found in hens' eggs, and sometimes large roundworms can be found in the birds' feces.
