Study of Diamond Crown by the International College of Prosthodontists

shrinkage on some white fillings is so minimal that cracking of the tooth is not a concern.  such is the case with diamondcrown (a crown material that can be used for composite fillings) and diamondlite.  once a tooth has been prepped for a crown, it only needs cleaned.  there would not be more tooth structure removed to redo a crown unless there was decay.  i asked my dentist how long crowns and bridges lasted and that is what he told me, that they should be replaced every 10 years.

Study of Diamond Crown by the International College of Prosthodontists:

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical performance of the Diamond Crown™ PEX resin in metal-composite vs metal-free prosthetic restorations, in general practice, during a 18-month period.

The commonly used Bis-GMA, UDMA, TEGMA, DecaMA composite resins have a "glass-like" amorphous structure , are brittle, weak and prone to fracture, to surface degradation and wear. The PEX semi-crystalline resin matrix ,microelastic and macrorigid, have an high toughness, high fracture resistance and optimal impact and wear resistance. In conclusion the Diamon Crown™composite system allows us to produce a quality prosthesis that was rated 100% SATISFACTORY and it maintain this high rating at least for 18 months, which was the duration of this investigation. Muneki Hirayama, DMD says:

DiamondCrown™ products combine microcrystalline PEX resin matrix and high purity organically bridged glass-ceramic nanofillers to provide a superior level of shock absorption, wear resistance, fracture toughness and diametral tensile strength. With the same wear rate as natural enamel, DiamondCrown™ products are kind to natural teeth and highly biocompatible, with a strong, durable high gloss finish.

E' a totally biocompatibile, not cytotoxic and anallergico material policeramico. And indicated for front and posterior direct reconstructions of. It represents the best alternative to the amalgam. Advised to the professional who wishes to also profit for the exceptional characteristics biomechanicses of an innovative material using one technical of simple and fast working.

DIAMONDLITE

Physical characteristics Prodotti Instructions Cards of emergency Casuistry

Microelastic Macrorigido and
DiamondLite™ and made up of PEX, the exclusive bimodale semicrystalline matrix of medicale degree deriving from the ortopedia, where it comes used for biomedicali systems.
Thanks to its molecular structure to high degree of cristallinita (80%) similar to that one of the diamond, the PEX confers to DiamondLite™ proprieta of macrorigidita and microelasticita guaranteeing:

• elevated resistance to the fracture
• elevated resistance to the bending
• elevated resistance to the traction
• high absorption of the shocks: the bimodale semicrystalline structure of the PEX, thanks to tidy and organized molecular geometry, and in a position to dissipating the cargo forces and therefore to absorb them, affinche not are fractures of the material.
