I was in the same boat as you; tried raw diet which sent me over the edge (digestion basically shut down).
When following an Ayurvedic type diet for my dosha (Vata) not only did I begin eating the foods that I love (heavier warm foods with lots of spices that emphasizes sweet and sour flavors) but my digestive troubles vanished immediately. No more bloating or constipation (had constipation since I was a kid). And when the digestive system begins working properly everything else starts falling into place.
The ones who may do well with raw food diet are likely Pitta Dosha since their digestive systems are very strong and don't require the help of heat and lots of spices to help "predigest" the food
I often find myself baffled on how accurate Ayurveda and TCM are but then again it's based on centuries of first hand experiences without focus on profit.
