Re: I beg to differ

Canada has also seen a rise in preventable infectious disease because of vaccine scares:

"Here in Atlantic Canada we have recently experienced a mumps outbreak which some medical people have traced back to the United Kingdom and areas of lower vaccination rates resulting from the MMR Autism scare. As the following article from the online edition of the LA Times summarizes the Science to date just does not support the existence of a vaccine autism link."

A British doctor (Andrew Wakefield), lead author of a now discredited anti-vaccine study in The Lancet, is facing charges of medical impropriety in Britain and could be booted off the medical register (he failed to disclose ties to a lawyers' group hoping to sue the government over vaccination, and collected vast sums of money from this group).

Anti-vaccination websites boast long lists of "references", few of which are directly connected to the issue and none of which demonstrate a vaccine-autism link.

The evidence keeps piling up, in country after country - vaccination does not cause autism, whether due to a preservative or for any other reason. It's a proven lifesaver.
