Re: skin eruptions- what is the cause?

I know how frustrating it is when you feel like you're doing everything 'right' for achieving clear skin, yet the problem persists, it's incredibly disheartening and a real drain on your emotional well-being. Have you done any parasite cleanses? I recently completed a course of humaworm and found that my skin cleared considerably in the weeks following the end of the treatment. I also feel the main cause of my flare-ups is stress, towards the end of term at Uni my skin will get pretty awful with the pressure of deadlines etc, though after a few weeks of being home and relaxing it's almost gone.

I feel that trying to live as stress-free life as possible is highly important for reducing Acne and maintaining general well-being. Meditation and yoga, or just a long soak in a bath with lavender oil can really help. And I think one of the best things you can do for your skin is try not to think about the problem too much. I went through a period a couple of years ago where it was on my mind every minute of every day, severly impacting on my social life. Though as soon as I learnt to accept that this was how my skin was going to be for the time being, and started spending more time outside with friends (I used to hide away indoors even in mid-summer as I was embarressed about how my skin appeared in natural light) the problem seemed far less serious than I was making it out to be.

Another thing that you may like to look in to is the possibility of the problem being caused by skin mites. I believe there are posts on this site relating to this issue and I'm sure a google search will bring up plenty of info. If so, you may need to incorporate different topical applications to your cleansing regime (maybe diluted ACV after washing), and ensure pillow cases are changed regularly as well as avoiding unecessary touching of the skin.

I wish you all the best and hope you find a solution that helps your skin. I'd really give the meditation a go, visualise yourself with beautiful clear skin...the mind can be a wonderful healer if we allow it to connect with our physical selves through relaxation and meditation.

Amber :)
