Candida Indicator? Please help!
Hi Doc:
I'm a 30-year-old female and have been struggling with the strong hunch that I have candida for the last 6-7 years. I have seen numerous docs--both conventional and naturopathic (no real help up unto this point, at least). I had the digestive stool analysis taken and only minimal yeast showed up even though whenever I take Crook's candida test, I score around 300 (off the charts!). I pass the "spit test" with flying colors but never could get a clear answer as to whether or not I "really" had it in order to begin to devote my time and money to proper treatment.
Ok...sorry for the book! But, basically, my question/concern is this: I had a tiny case of ringworm (possible symptom of candida, I know!) underneath my left breast for a few weeks. I treated it successfully with OTC Lotrimin (clotrimazole cream) antifungal. After a few days of religiously applying the cream, I had an interesting bowel movement (forgive me for the graphics!). It was completely coated in like almost a white fuzz--never had that before and now that I've stopped the cream I don't have it again. Now, would it be safe for me to assume and put 2 and 2 together to figure that that actually WAS yeast being removed from my body courtesy of the antifungal, albeit in a small amount, so that I can actually confirm that I do, indeed, have candida and can start treatment??
Thanks in advance for your help and opinions!
