Acid state, huh? Sounds like you are so obsessed with negative thoughts, that you are making yourself ill. There are many things out of our control. Let your friends problems be, she is after all a psychologist. Focus on the positive things in your life. Until you learn to control your emotions you are going to make yourself very ill.
Disturbacnce is right, leaving the country would probably help you. Years ago I left for six months I was ranting about the horrible government system and taxes, etc. I came back with a different attitude! I was soooo garteful to be back. Your right this government isn't perfect and life can be tough. However, life, government, etc, were even tougher out of the country! You may have little idea on how good you have it now. Sometimes, some quiet time away can work wonders. It can also teach us that we are what we think.
