Re: Leaky Gut

The most common cause of Leaky Gut is Candida bacteria which has changed into a fungal form and bored into the intestine. It causes minute holes in the intestinal wall which hampers absorption of nutrients and opens up an increased chance for infection. Neither P&B or enemas are recommended for long term treatment of leaky gut syndrome. You need to concentrate on healing the gut and eliminating the fungal Candida. Probably the best treatment for leaky gut is slippery elm broth and a nutrient dense juice fast. Moderate Iodine supplementation may help control the Candida population. You need to try and avoid simple sugars and starches and mucus producing foods. Allow your system to rest. Occasional enemas with a drop or two of Lugol's Iodine solution may bring relief, avoid anything that is harsh. Leaky gut can be healed, but it will take time and close attention to your diet.
