Re: consume quality
Some (most?)of the cheap honey may be from China. Years ago, people we'd buy honey from who subscribed to a honey publication, said that the honey from China was contaminated from the metal containers it was in. If the label doesn't show origin, you can probably bet it was from China.
In all fairness, the wild bees aren't even showing up in our yard anymore. My Oregano used to be covered with hundreds of them. Not a one in the last few years. Heard it has something to do with the refraction of light -- can't find their way.
Or, Moreless, maybe the 0xygen depletion of our planet plays a role as well.
It is so sad about the sugar feeding. Also, the honey lacks pollen. They are so greedy, they have to put pollen traps on the hives. No one wants to do it God's way.
Reminds me of chickens. Everyone keeps the lights on, so the poor birds think it's laying season. My three hens are old, but still laying, given their proper rest each year.
And, the way they raise chickens for meat is utterly cruel. We have all these societies for the prevention of cruelty, but it goes on everywhere. Why no outrage? $$$$$$$$$$$$
Also, have you ever seen the huge truck-trailer loads of used chickens going to market, dying on the ride, the wind knocking them over in the big cages?
