Re: jointing stage?The Jointing Theory!

"Quote... It should be obvious that the phenomenal feeding value of good grass at the jointing stage is a transient quality. If it is not grazed or cut and preserved within a few days of the jointing stage, its value is lost forever because the vitamins associated with photosynthesis are not transferred to the grains or returned to the soil. They are used up by the grass plant during the reproductive stage of growth. It is this transient nature of grass quality at the jointing stage that has made the secret of grass so elusive. The irony of it is that our"dumb"animals semm to have known the secret all the time-Charles F. Schnabel"end of quote.Tray grown grass can achieve jointing in 18 days under warm conditions. The tray grown grass has issues with root binding by day 6.I use maximum growing medium with soil augments for long term vitality.Basicaly tryin to apply permaculture ideas in a tray.Ive been considering using foliar sprays along with soil drenches to raise the brix level of the grass I grow. But I must admit I have reservations about doing something so unnatural. Not to mention the cost and time involved.I have used a basic compost tea to try to extend feeding with limited results. The grass juice factor is not present in perineal grasses! The quest to grow good grass continues,Sprouting Rules!!!
