i was thinking about nitrates and such. thatll do it. i love burnt ends, but that cant be done all the time, so now i severely limit that in my diet. i used to think it was a joke until i lost the ability to digest my food properly and my gut hurt every time i ate. i think they would get more good out of increasing Iodine intake.
i was thinking about a thread on this subject. what determines individual Iodine usage? could it be? a person who insists on eating barbeque every week, does he have a greater need for Iodine than the person who is on a raw only diet, or even just a ovo-lacto veg? what are the factors which indicate increased iodine usage, therefore increased supplementation to maintain sufficiency? or less need than usual? there do seem to be some people not as effected by all this, though i think they are increasingly rare. there is no escape from contamination, only remediation.
