Trusting only MD's or qualified medical professionals is understandable. The drawback, of course, is that you are trusting someone who has been taught very little about the role of proper diet, exercise and lifestyle, has been taught that the only way to treat illness and disease is to prescribe approved medication and that natural alternatives are ineffective and dangerous.
I agree that a lot of people think they know a bit about curing who really just jump on one or more popular bandwagon without bothering to find out if it really works or not. On the other hand, I would also say that there are a lot of people who are not qualified medical professionals who know more about actual healing, as opposed to treating symptoms, than many MDs.
