Re: IS anyone out there? I need advice from other parents on how far apart to space your kids.

Hey --

I don't know how my friends whose babies are two years part do it! I really don't. I was visiting with a friend yesterday and her oldest is almost two, the baby is 3 months...it was nervewracking! People always say to me, "I don't know how you do it with twins" -- but you really just do twice of everything so it's more work but not more brainpower, so to speak. But when you have two with completely different needs like a baby and a toddler, and one of them is totally helpless and the other is still pretty helpless -- well, it would be too much for me! I am with you on the taking your time front.

Although I do fear that by the time I feel "ready" again, that I will either be too old, or that I'll lack the several-year commitment that a baby requires. It is a full-time job even for mothers that already work full-time jobs!

Best to all,

Laura
