I disagree

Where did you get this information? I would like to say for the record that children do not become dependent by having their needs met and you sure as hell can get pregnant while nursing - especially a child of this age.

The World Health Organization recommends nursing until 2 years of age and for however long after is mutually desired by mother and child. My son is very independent and he nursed till he was almost 3. It probably would have been a little longer had I not had some health issues. While it may not be everyone's same decision, nursing my son was a pleasure and I would do it all over again.

Breastfeeding does not make babies obese and it the perfect food and comfort for babies and no more promotes a dependence on food for comfort than wretched cow's milk in a sippee cup.

I am all about using the magic mother nature gave us?
