The Kingdom of God is Within you - is what Jesus taught
"An American soldier who chooses to also use the
Italian Army Manual as their own personal guide would no longer be an American
soldier (and could not be an Italian soldier either). It is the same with
Christiany (either/or, all or nothing). If someone wants to learn about a
culture of peace and how to build a utopia, the academic interest must remain
only academic. In Christianity, no spiritual beliefs can be based on text other
than the bible and gospel of Jesus Christ."
That's where I'm coming from.
Luke 17:20-21: And when he was demanded of
the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said,
The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo
here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Why do people who say they follow the teachings of Jesus, completely
ignore this passage? It's the one that I try to follow, and I've found
it very rewarding. Tolstoy wrote the book "The Kingdom of God is
Within You" - a fabulous rendition of the real teachings of Jesus. Gandhi
(who read the bible from end to end), read Tolstoy's book, used it as his
blueprint (the teachings of Jesus), and changed the face of the earth.
